Greetings and salutations.
Apologies for those who already know, but wanted to alert the rest of you to the fact that I've been playing bass and singing some harmonies in a new band from DC called Paint Branch and that we have some shows coming up this week. It's excellent stuff, helmed by songwriters Chris Richards and John Davis who formerly played together in Q & Not U many moons ago before going on to various other extinct and extant projects of their own. They got together to make a Paint Branch album full of excellent songs often landing in Nilsson/CSNY-inspired territory, though of course that's an oversimplification. You should go listen for yourself:
paintbranch.bandcamp.com
The live band features Chris and John and me and Elmer Sharp and Nick Anderson. All dudes, yes, but sensitive dudes! That should count for something.
We are playing in Baltimore this Thursday at the Metro Gallery, and then in DC on Friday at Comet Ping Pong. Both shows should be great, so if you're around come check it out. We play second on Thursday, last on Friday. Info below.
Hoping to get back to recording some new stuff for Fulton Lights (or maybe something new? who knows) later this summer.
Not dead yet!
Peace.
Andy
