Hi folks-

Just a quick note to tell you about the cd release party, some digital
downloading news, and an interview!

I)Those of you within 500 miles of New York City should join us this
Thursday, March 15th, at Tonic as we *finally* celebrate the release
of the debut Fulton Lights album. (Those outside of the 500 mile
radius are excused.) New York Magazine made it one of their picks of
the week! We'll be rolling nine deep once again: Emily Basner
(viola), Rob Christiansen (drums, programming, sound), Hubert Chen
(violin), Karen Correa (viola), Jay Foote (upright bass), Pat Muchmore
(cello, trombone), Steve Silverstein (processed guitar), Still
(turntable), and me (vocals, guitar, keys). Come early for Frances
(www.francestheband.com), about whom L Magazine says, "We've heard
exactly four songs by New York City's Frances, and they're already one
of our new favorite bands. Relaxing, stylish indie-pop with
interesting instrumentation." Then catch Still--best known for his
work as 1/3 of New Jersey's hip hop noise outfit Dälek--use a single
turntable, an array of effects pedals and a library of battered vinyl,
to create haunting soundscapes that run the gamut of aggressive noise
to delicate ambience. Still will then join Fulton Lights for our set.

Details:

Come, bring friends. Or if you're nowhere near NYC, tell your NY'er
friends to go for you!

II)Those of you who speak English and who have time on your hands
might want to check out this interview that Cokemachineglow (who rated
the album among the year's best) conducted with yours truly:

III)Those of you on planet Earth should buy the album. Lots of places
to buy it, including some new downloading sites that have it for sale

"Fulton Lights captures the city on the graveyard shift--coughing,
sputtering, wheezing--both beautiful and vaguely threatening."--Harp

"This darkly beautiful waking dream, crafted with deft orchestration
and soporific beats, exists permanently in the witching hour, when you
can close your eyes and somehow manage to feel alone in a city of
millions."--AM New York

"...A suite of beautiful, ghostly songs in which acoustic pianos and
string samples float over muted hip-hop beats as Goldman's soulful,
whispery tenor shares tales of life in the city of New York."--All

Right quick: the Fulton Lights cd is up on iTunes! If that's your
preferred means of buying music, go to town. For those not accustomed
to such high-techery, all you have to do is open your iTunes up and on
the left side of the screen you'll see a green icon that says "music
store." If you click on that, you can then search "Fulton Lights,"
and it will take you to the album. You can buy each track
individually for 99 cents, or the whole album (and obviously I'd
strongly recommend buying the whole album, since that's how it is
intended to be heard and experienced; of course, it was also meant to
be held in your hand, with the sweet packaging and all, but that's
neither here nor there) for $9.90.

See you on Thursday for the cd release show!
