The spin-off show, First Dates Hotel, follows the same TV format with contestants meeting for the first time in a hotel restaurant, but if the date goes well, the couples are offered the opportunity to check in for the night. The first series was filmed at Le Vieux Castillon in Castillon-du-Gard[2] offering idyllic settings with a variety of activities for the successful second daters, and added sommelier Xavier Chapelou to Fred Sirieix's team. The second series was filmed at Aquapetra Resort & Spa in Campania near Naples, Italy.[2][3]

In 2020, it was announced that filming would move to Manchester. The specific location was later confirmed in January 2021, when it was announced that the ninth series would begin airing on 19 January 2021, in the new location of The Refinery, located in Spinningfields, in Manchester.[4]

Another spin-off show, Teen First Dates began airing on E4 on 22 February 2021 and consisted of 6 episodes. Each episode was also available to stream on All 4. Following the same format as the parent show and also taking place at Spinningfields, it follows 16-19 year olds as they begin dating for the first time. Series 2 began airing on 23 February 2022.

In July 2023, it was announced that filming would be relocated to The Botanist bar & restaurant in Bath, Somerset for the 10th anniversary of the show.[5] Along with a new restaurant location, the tenth anniversary series will launch brand-new cast members as well as a format refresh.

Since series 3 (2015) the restaurant's matre d'htel Fred Sirieix offers pieces to camera on the nature of love, romance and dating.[6] When not filming for First Dates, he was the general manager at restaurant Galvin at Windows, although he left in December 2019 after 14 years.[7]

The waiting staff and barman do not work in the restaurant full-time, but are recruited for when the series is being filmed. Surrey-born[8] Laura Nicole Tott[9] left the show, in 2021,[10] to train as a Paramedic, get married and gave birth to their son in 2023.[11] She hasn't ruled out a return at some stage.[12] Oxford-born[13] CiCi Coleman is an actor[14][15][16][17] who trained at New York Film Academy. The waiting staff are joined by Sam Conrad,[18] Austin Ventour,[18] Aoife Smyth,[19] Grant Urquhart, David Marc and Daniella Kalita.[20]

London-born and Cheltenham-raised barman Merlin Griffiths was[21] a pub landlord[22] now owning a chain of pubs,[23] who had previously worked as a global brand ambassador for Bombay Sapphire gin.[24] Griffiths also works alongside co-bartender Fiona Beck who as well as working in the First Dates restaurant, has a career in advertising. She has also worked as a model in the past, featuring in fashion shows in Paris, Barcelona and New York.[25]

In June 2023, First Dates production company Twenty Twenty and Nordic podcast company Podimo announced[26] a new spin-off podcast would be launched in the Summer. The show, which launched in July 2023, is hosted by CiCi Coleman and Frankie Bridge.[27][28][29][30][31][32][33]

I have a multipart task that I think can surely be accomplished with a few formulas. I looked around the forums for a while and I think I have an idea but I haven't been able to put it all together yet!

Basically I have lookup field collating all the dates that a certain client has ads scheduled across multiple products. For our scheduling purposes, the first of each month have a "- [Month]" text added. I want to identify the first date among this group of dates, for a notification automation to let the team know when this client's contract starts.

> Additional wishlist is to identify the first date after today. There will only be a single year of dates in this field, but the client may sign a new contract later in the year, and those dates will add to this same field, so it would be useful to know the next earliest date.

Hi @Emily_McLain ! When dates are listed on the Sales table, is the field format single line text or a date field? If possible I'd recommend using the date field type, it saves you having to convert strings to dates later and makes everything easier.

Thanks for the reply! Our system is set up where the initial dates are records on a separate Calendar table so thats where I was getting the string of dates from, but they do eventually get translated into date field entries on another table. I took your suggestion and reset up my Rollup fields to pull from those date fields (had to have two working across two different tables so it collated everything how I wanted) instead and its working beautifully!

Remember that good first date questions are just as important as answers. In fact, your focus should be on listening well and making the other person comfortable. To that end, avoid sensitive topics related to sex or money. Asking how much the other person earns or why their last relationship ended are not good questions to ask on a first date.

My first date with Terri was at a family wedding for Audrey Aleck and Scott Koltun on Memorial Day weekend in 1994. More than what we ate, what I remember was walking into Congregation Beth El and being scrutinized by her elegant pair of elderly aunts. They smiled and let me pass with Terri, so I guess that was approval.

David and I had our first date on January 5, 1991. It was a blind date.
He took me to Shine Shine Palace at Waterside. I definitely remember what we ate. He suggested ordering the whole fish; it was fun taking it apart and sharing it as part of our first date. It was also delicious.

Our first meal together is hard to quantify after all these years. We were friends for nearly a decade before we officially dated, and we shared many dinner parties with our group of friends.

(as told by Lisa)
It was the summer of 1993. I was living in the D.C. area and just got back from a singles mission to Israel. A girl named Marcy was on my trip, and we became fast friends. She grew up in Newport News, and one of her best friends was a guy named Howard. She thought Howard and I would make a great couple. He had just finished his podiatric residency program and was living in Virginia Beach.

Lots of good questions here, but one of my biggest first date tests is to see if the guy actually asks me any questions. If you pay attention, it is shocking how many men do not ask a single question on their own.

My fav question is When is your birthday? Then if it is coming soon I ask what they want to do to celebrate, or if it is some time past I ask what they did for their birthday. I was taught that this was a great ice breaker with kids, but it turns out almost everybody loves celebrating their birthday! And if you get I hate birthdays as a response you have just gotten some really valuable information.

So funny and true. My husband and I are completely different. He is a Math Nerd/geek and totally clueless about movies/pop culture. But we have similar values and agree on big things that matter like money/spending, raising our child, politics etc and we have been together for twenty plus years now.

Yes, same over here. My questions would be along the same lines: do you wash your hands after using the bathroom? Put the toilet seat down? what is the proper way to load a dishwasher? do you fold your laundry and then actually PUT IT AWAY?

I agree. Absolutely no mention of an ex except for your short available status divorced, broke up recently, and such. No details. Never be negative about an ex early in a relationship. It can take real effort for bitterness to pop through that can make a new person suspicious.

Oh my gosh! Haha that would also horrify me. I am forever flip flopping around between different perspectives to try to understand them (and love that!). This just goes to show how many different ways there are to be. Not only to be exactly opposite, but to love the very thing about yourself that someone else would hate about themselves. Fascinating!

I did not hesitate for one second, call a friend, count to three, or think gentle thoughts about my commitment to self-care. A quick search for his age and zip code on a site I knew he had used in the past yielded a long list of matches. And there he was. After making up a fake login, I read his whole profile.

When I sent the link to friends, they clucked sympathetically. Then they asked me to put down my laptop and take some steps to move on. They were right. I stopped stalking his profile, bought a red leather jacket, and wrote my own personals ad.

I met a couple of people online that I already knew in real life. I corresponded for weeks with a sharp, literary fellow who corrected my grammar and talked about reading piles of midterms. When he sent me a photograph, I gasped. He was on the faculty at the university where I worked. In fact, we were on a committee together, and he had stopped by my office earlier that day. Grateful I had never sent a photograph or told him my full name, I quickly ended our correspondence and never told him that it was me.

The grief of my breakup lingered. I no longer trusted my own judgment about relationships. How did I get to be thirty-four, childless, and living with a roommate, like a college freshman? I was stumped. I wanted to get married, but I was devoted to my independence. I liked my apartment, but secretly feared that I would choke on my popcorn-and-wine dinner and lie dead on the Craigslist couch until my roommate came home from work.

I loved having a Dating Committee, and I winnowed down and tried to follow their most helpful advice. First dates were only ninety minutes and on a weeknight. I tried to do things on dates that I wanted to do anyway, like trying new bars, restaurants, and cafs. For the most part, I limited this to eating establishments, but early on I convinced someone to meet me at a thirty-minute oil change garage and then go shopping for Halloween costumes.
