Dear HPF Coalition Members:
We apologize that it’s been quite some time since you’ve last heard from us! We want you to know that we are continually thankful for your dedication and support to secure full funding for the Historic Preservation Fund. While our heroic efforts last congress fell short, there appears to be another avenue developing this year through the Administration and we need your help.
As some of you may have heard, the President created the America’s Great Outdoors (AGO) Initiative with the vision of connecting Americans to the Great Outdoors as well as conserving and restoring America’s natural and cultural resources. A key goal for the AGO is to increase funding for both the Historic Preservation Fund and the Land and Water Conservation Fund. To that end, an AGO steering committee was formed to be a vocal and large voice for conservation, outdoor recreation, and historic preservation by national NGO’s, industry, state/local NGO’s and influential individuals. The steering committee has drafted the attached letter to Congress articulating the need for preservation and conservation funding while being mindful of America’s fiscal situation.
We ask that your organization consider signing onto this letter and adding your voice to the cause. We need to make sure preservation is well represented as the AGO initiative moves forward!
If you are able to sign, please let me know by COB Monday, June 27. You can email me at heb...@sso.org
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Thank you!
Elizabeth
