London show pre-meet?

Hi all -

Haven't heard much from this list recently, but here's a question: how many of us are going to Dean's London shows in December? I'm going to the one on the Friday and was wondering if anyone was interested in meeting up beforehand for a drink. I'm sick of not being able to gush to anyone about how much I love Galaxie 500/Luna/Dean & Britta for fear of boring people to tears! (I'm a 20 yr old university student so the people I speak to rarely know what I'm on about).

Let me know if you're interested! (Could potentially make a Facebook event for this if there's enough people on board).

I'll be going (to both nights) and would be happy to meet up with anyone who wants to meet up wtih me - as long as they're aware that I'm rubbish at actually talking to people, and to expect long, uncomfortable silences! Also Shabby, old enough to be your dad!

Not sure of any decent drinking emporia (is that a word) around there - but we have plenty of time to do some research!

Hoping to drag my son along on the Friday - he saw Dean & Britta at Truck a couple of years ago, and a soundcheck in London, but he's long overdue another show!

Re: drink emporia -- there is a place called the Betjeman Arms inside St. Pancras station which is pretty nice (and not as expensive as a lot of other places in that area)... unless people have other recommendations?

Sounds good to me too, never thought of looking for pubs in a station!

Funnily enough watched an old British film (Simon and Laura (1955)) a couple of days ago where a couple of characters went for a drink at a bar in St Pancras station - it cost 9/- for two whiskies - which the Internet tells me is equivalent to £10!!
