DOpus wants you (I guess) to always select the first archive-file of a set (with the built-in zip-handler). The problem is that in some folders I sometimes have more than 50 parts of the archive. Searching for the first file can be very annoying sometimes
Note that when you open something other than the first part in most programs, you get a truncated version of the archive which only contains the files from that part onwards, skipping anything in previous parts. That is such a problem that we made Opus prevent you from doing it by mistake.
Sorry for double-post, but I really don't know which settings you use. Looks wierd to me. WinRAR opens the whole archive for me, not just part X or Y as seen on your screen...
And I use stock settings, nothing is changed witin WinRar
(Turns out WinRAR opens the truncated archive in one case, and finds the first part automatically in the other case. IMO, that is more confusing than consistently requiring the first part to be used in both cases.)
That's not how any version of WinRAR has ever worked for me. I've tried 4.x and 5.x today, both with default settings and split archives they created themselves, and they always truncate when opening (not extracting) a later part.
Make sure there are some small files at the start of the archive so that the part you open doesn't start with part of a large file that spans from the start to the opened part. (Although even then, WinRAR adds some arrows after the filename to indicate parts of the file are in previous parts of the archive).
TBH, I don't really understand why this is such a problem either way, especially with modern RAR split archives that have the .part01.rar as the first file and never make you hunt for it like the old .rXX naming convention.
My guess is that they were just split directly, with no extra information, so you should be able to just concatenate them and end up with a full zip file. This thread has some links to tools that can concatenate files.
Plain combining 2 individual archives into one will not work. In fact I just tried that on zip, bzip2 and xz archives. All reported the outcome archive to be invalid. It might work with proper multi-part archives though.
I have a multipart .rar archive containing a single .tar.gz file inside it (don't ask why, that is just how it was made). I am missing a few of the parts, but do have the first part. I would like to extract as much of the .tar.gz as possible. How can I do that?
when it was done, I loaded the file in Deluge bittorrent client, and forced recheck, and I was only missing the percentage that I really didn't have, meaning the bittorrent client identified that I do have the true information between all the zeros I added.
I had a password protected RAR archive in 6 parts, but part4 was missing. I tried to use WinRAR's repair function but it said it couldn't find the recovery record. I tried the methods above but they didn't work and the extraction always stopped where the missing part started.
Finally, I decided to fool WinRAR into thinking parts 5 and 6 were a different archive and renamed them as "archive.part1.rar" and "archive.part2.rar". I then told WinRAR to extract the new part 1 and even though I got an error message saying it couldn't extract the file that ended at the beginning of the new part 1 (as it was missing some data from the missing part 4), it managed to extract all the other files from the original parts 5 and 6.
I had only the second part of two part rar archive, while unpacking part 2 as expected winrar popped a message saying the first part was missing; I also noticed that the full content of part two had been unpacked in the folder; so without touching winrar's popup message, I copied the unpacked files into another folder and then clicked on close in the winrar's popup message; the unpacked contents were deleted by winrar, but since I had copied them earlier into a different folder, I could use the unpacked content from that different folder.
If the offset you need to seek to isn't prime, then use a block size larger than one. dd can only seek to multiples of the output block size. dd really does make read and write system calls with that block size, so bs=1 really sucks.
I recently tried to extract a multi-part rar files (part01.rar, part02.rar, etc). When I extracted, it finished with no error. However, it turns out that the file extracted is broken because I do not have all parts (I only have part01 to part36, but in fact they are up to part50). It was super confusing and I have to download winRAR to figure out what goes wrong (winRAR gives the error message at the end of extracting).
And if the file is damaged or in your case, part of the volume is lost, you will need to rar and volume reduction (if the file is created with the keys -rr -rv) otherwise all the files in the archive can not pull out.

Reader.NextPart and Reader.NextRawPart limit the number of headers in apart to 10000 and Reader.ReadForm limits the total number of headers in allFileHeaders to 10000.These limits may be adjusted with the GODEBUG=multipartmaxheaders=setting.
Form is a parsed multipart form.Its File parts are stored either in memory or on disk,and are accessible via the *FileHeader's Open method.Its Value parts are stored as strings.Both are keyed by field name.
ReadForm parses an entire multipart message whose parts havea Content-Disposition of "form-data".It stores up to maxMemory bytes + 10MB (reserved for non-file parts)in memory. CreatePart creates a new multipart section with the providedheader. The body of the part should be written to the returnedWriter. After calling CreatePart, any previous part may no longerbe written to.
This is a tutorial that explains and shows how to combine those multi-part files back into a DAZIP that are greater than 300MB. I used to be intimidated by trying to figure this out and passed by some great mods due to me thinking they were too complicated to install.
Open up your 7-Zip file manager and navigate to the folder you just extracted the multipart files. (the ones that end in .001, .002, ect. if needed)Right click on the file that ends in .001 as that is part one and choose "combine". This doesn't mean right click on the .001 file where you unzipped it. When attempting to copy a 54.779 GiB local file to the remote with --s3-upload-concurrency higher than 2, rclone attempts to PutBucket a single time. When it fails(because the file is too large), it seems to just stop, instead of attempting a multi-part upload.
This adventure goes deeper and deeper. After letting it run for a while, it starts about 50 multipart uploads, running at around 150 MiB/s, but then stops making new chunks. It then begins to slow down the transfer, until it hits 0/s. Around 5 minutes later, it fires another 10 chunks, speeds up, then slows down again.
I think rclone's bandwidth calculations are probably being confused by the multipart upload. This isn't normally a problem, but you've set the chunk size quite large 100M. The bandwidth calculation will be correct in the end when the file has been uploaded. Do you have an alternate way of looking at the bandwidth used?
I just re-ran the copy with --s3-disable-checksum and --s3-chunk-size=50M. It starts running at almost 200 MB/s, but then falls back down to zero once it hits 50 chunks, which almost makes me think that rclone only counts bandwidth usage when starting a chunk, not while the chunk is actually uploading.
The thing that makes it even more odd is the fact that the Ubuntu System Monitor shows around 1 MB/s transfer once the initial rush completes, which almost makes me think something within rclone is waiting for a response to a chunk upload, or something else.
So you need to first concatenate the pieces, then repair the result. cat test.zip.* concatenates all the files called test.zip.* where the wildcard * stands for any sequence of characters; the files are enumerated in lexicographic order, which is the same as numerical order thanks to the leadings zeroes. >test.zip directs the output into the file test.zip.
For a multipart zip coming from a Google Drive download I tried several of the explained methods but didn't work (well). I could finally do it in a simple way from the terminal:unzip filename.zip.001when finished extracting the same with the next part:unzip filename.zip.002and so on ...
