If I set up a recurring task in Google Tasks and mark it complete in this app I find the task disappears. Anyone else?

When you check it off, It should appear in the "completed" view, then come back to the "not completed" view on the next recur, isn't it the case for you?

That might be the issue and confuses me. If I complete a recurring in Google tasks the next event is created on the next date. In your app it doesn’t appear or isn’t ‘created’ till next date?

From what I observe, in the official google app, when I click the checkmark of a recurring task, it disappears. Then I can open the "Complete" drawer at the bottom, and find it there. The next day it'll return back up.

Let me do some testing now and see what appears tomorrow. 👍. Will update you.

Tested and if completed a recurring task in this app it disappeared but then came back today, same with Google tasks but if I completed in the Gtask app it immediately recreated an occurring on the next event, which is what I want as the way this and Google repeat occurring apps I don't know if the event is actually there. Can't trust the app.

So, if I understood you correctly, you're using 3 apps:
1. official google app
2. this app
3. GTask

1 and 2 behaves one way, 3 behaves another way, and you prefer 3?

I tested on all 3 but day to day I use 2 & 3.
3 behaves as I would expect. Once a recurring task is completed it immediatly reoccurs on the next date due. If planning ahead, how do you know what is ahead if a task is not there? Hiding recurring makes no sense?

Cheers

Well, there are other cases when you want to be reminded only when it's time. For example, "pay rent" which repeats every month, or "do yoga" which repeats every morning. You'll want to get reminded, then do it, then check it off, then get reminded next time.

Anyways, this app chooses to be consistent with the official app.

(I personally like the official mobile app made by google better than gtasks.)

Personally I prefer to know exactly whats ahead not hope that things appear. GTasks works perfectly with views for today, tomorrow etc and all lists showing separately on today. Having to flip through lists for today I don't like.

Going to back to your preferred strategy, you could look into tomorrow and go Ive nothing to do and wake up to find lots of recurring tasks have appeared? I thought the whole point of task was being able to plan ahead not hope you know whats going to happen?

Cheers John
