Hi Dear,
I am fine here.
Take all your documents along - DS 2019, fulbright contract, invitation letter if you have. No need for any academic certificates, your leave sanction letter, if you got it.
Generally they don't ask much from fulbright fellows - they might ask name of your host institution, faculty associate, time period, what's your research project about. Most probably only one of these. If your dependents are also going for interview, they might aso about your family - like any other child than those accompanying you to interview, nothing much. they don't ask anything from dependents. Actual interview will be over in a minute or two.
You will go to your designated window (your's will be a referral visa case- tell this at first counter inside to get the L token) and give your passport(s) and DS form(s) don't foget to collect blue tokens/slips from there (they forgot to give me and i didn't knew it) then you go for fingerprinting and finally interview, all in same hall. After interview they will say your visa is granted. You can collect your passport in evening (4-5 i think) by showing the blue slip.
nothing special for packing, you won't even need much clothes (don't get dirty that soon here) only undergarments in sufficient quantity for a week at least (you go for loundry once a week at the most). Don't pack anything like flour, da, rice. you can bring some spices for initial use, rest all you will get here. look for weather patterns for the place you are going. search for grocery stores nearby on google maps and also if some Indian store is nearby. Bring a cooker, tawa and belan (must). also look for bus service in your city if available. you will have to plan everything according to that. send me address of your institue, i can do some search for you from my new perspective here.
look for craigslist of your city, you can get many things you will need over there.
have you arranged accommodation?
