Dear Ptip, Pi Nink and All,

While most if not all of us (the grantees) are working day and night to finish
whatever the final research projects may be, I've been trying not to initiate a
string of emails. However, I can't help sharing this little article posted on
one of the webblogs operated by my host organization, Rural Development
Initiatives (RDI) for my practicum here in Oregon. As I was wrapping up my
practicum, the Executive Director asked me to write an article about my
practicum experience for their monthly newsletter. It's nothing much, but I
think it's relevant to us because my title has the word "Fulbright Scholar from
Thailand". It's about a page and a half in length. Here's the link:

While my practicum is officially over, the hard part is to put everything down
on paper. So, wish me luck!

Best regards,
Phum

"As a result, I am now convinced that being a trainer is not about demonstrating how much a trainer knows a particular subject matter. Rather, it is about how to provide an environment or situation that leads learners to discover the intended learning point on their own."

I think you are spot on. No dobut this applies to development of many other things in life, including Thai democracy.

With my best wishes to you krub P'Phum!

Thank you New for your great observation and I couldn't agree more.

I appreciate your comments as always krub Ptip and it would be an honor for me to have this story posted/published in the Fulbright Thailand newsletter krub. If you need a picture to go with that I'll be happy to send a more suitable one krub, thanks to Pi Nink's suggestion.

By the way, let me tell the funny story behind that picture. Actually that picture has nothing to do with the theme of my article. It was was taken several years ago (when I was still in shape). And I used it in my final presentation at RDI staff meeting. I used it with a statement "Thank you, RDI" as a metaphor of thanking them with all my energy. One of the staff was so impressed and liked that picture so much that she coppied it from my powerpoint slide and put it on her desktop (computer screen). She happened to be one of the people responsible for posting stuff onto the blog and that's how it got there krub. ...Sorry I ended up writing too much again. ... bye for now ..Phum
