If you live in the area, come to hear two fujara performances (20 min
each) in the rich afternoon program, besides fujara I'd play also
koncovka, 6-hole "pistalka" and "dvojacka" (double whistle). This FREE
Slovak festival, with rich program, has been very popular for the past
36 years. It opens at 9:30 a.m., there will be a church service at 11
a.m. and the rich afternoon program on the main stage will start at 2
p.m., it includes both dancing groups and music. There will be also
lot of traditional Slovak products for display and sale, including
ethnic food and drinks, games for children, and a soccer match. If you
come in the morning, visit the big crafts tent, where there will be
also Slovak fujara display table with many instruments, I'll be there
for demonstration of all the instruments and any questions you might
have.
