There have been an interest in organizing fujara and overtone flute class (workshop) for some time in the past and I assume it continues. I have achieved the first step in direction of a well organized lessons under the wings of “Common Ground On the Hill” organization, because overtone flute “koncovka” will be part of the summer courses at McDaniel College program, for the first time in this country.

Koncovka is not only perfect instrument to play as a precursor of fujara, but it stands on his own. I like it for its unique voice, ease of play and improvisation, and a louder voice, helping to penetrate where fujara could not be very well heard. The class is 1 hour a day, in the first week of July (4-7), but you could pick other classes of instruments you are interested in, during the day. Koncovka class starts at 3 PM, so local students could even go to work in the morning, if they need to, but others would prefer to stay at the campus and enjoy all the day and evening activities of the 17. year of Traditions Weeks Courses:

(click Traditions Weeks / Schedule for Week 1):

IF this course is well attended, it could not only continue the next year, but I think we could have another course there, for FUJARA!

If you have interest in fujara and overtone flutes, and have the time, please register now.

Starter instruments are available for the class.

Please read my poster for the course, in attachment.

Thank you!
