at McDaniel College summer course (Week 1) for the very first time in this country, and we are already in planning stage for the June 2012, when we would like to include also Slovak fujara class for beginning and intermediate players. Please respond if you would be interested to take this class, which in the week long course would give you much deeper knowledge of playing fujara than any short workshop. This early announcement would give those who do not have a proper instrument the time to obtain a good fujara for the course.
For fujara players interested mostly in traditional fujara songs, I would recommend the new Fujara songbook ("Fujarovy zpevnik") I have just received from Dusan Holik, it has 10 pages of fujara basics in English and German translation at the beginning, and then 101 songs in notation, lyrics and with fujara fingering diagrams under the notes, and also comes with a DVD, where songs are played slowly and fingering is closely shown. I am not sure how many prints of the book are left, if you like to have a copy, better act soon.
Best winds to your fujara!
