course is filling fast. It starts in one month, first week in July, so

I just came back from 1st International Fujara Festival at Zvolen
Castle in Slovakia, which I have organized (for 5 previous months),
and have performed there as well, it was tremendous success, (3 days,
4 stages, 80 performers!, and I was in Slovak newspaper and had radio
interview). There were fujara players from 6 other countries
there, including 2 from USA (not including me), performing on the same
stage as the other traditional Slovak players, for the first time in
history!!!

There is a lot of interest in overtone flutes Fujara and Koncovka in
this country, and Maryland and Baltimore suburbs are at the center of
it since 2006 (1st American Fujara workshop with 14 participants from
7 states and Canada) up to present time, when Fujara and Koncovka were
taught for the first time in USA in week long course
at McDaniel College in Westminster. All 5 course participants played
simple American and Slovak songs at the end of the course, and have
also learned to jam blues on Slovak Koncovka. I'll attach a picture
from the course. Course is for all levels, no previous music
experience necessary. Loaner instruments will be available.
It is not guarantied the course would offered again in the future by
Common Ground, they decide which instruments to include every year, so
if you were thinking about taking the couse, don't postpone it to
uncertain future.
