Hi all,
This sounds like a great idea. Thanks for forwarding the announcement to the
list! I've just gotten the initial OK for me to attend, too. As Leandro says, I
would be happy to help with a fuge stks poster, try to help with a fuge data
standards poster, or any combination/merging of the above (if required). I will
probably also submit an abstract for a SyMBA poster there, too (thanks for the
idea, Chris). If there is space in front of the posters, a live version of the
FuGE-OM would be great - good idea, Chris! If there is agreement, what should
the next step be?
thanks again :)

I would be happy to put together a poster on the FuGE STKs and present
this. Andy, if you would like to do a poster on the FuGE data standard
as written below I will do my best to present this poster as well. If
you feel both should be merged into a summary poster I am ok with that
too. I will then also have a sysFusion poster showing how we have used
one of the STKs to build a database and system using FuGE.

Hi,
I will also have a poster on our FuGE system implementation, sysFusion,
and I would be happy to do demos of it and also the underlying EJB 3.0
STK which it uses. Andy, I will also present both posters if needed and
do my best to answer questions about the FuGE data standard poster, but
I know I will not be nearly as capable as you. Here at my institute
people have given me various real-world use cases and asked how it fits
into the model and sometimes I have trouble knowing exactly, but this is
definitely my ignorance as I have focused all my attention on developing
a database and software around the FuGE standard and this didn't
necessarily require knowing this (yet) :)

How about someone demos something? Either show Symba, or maybe
hold a 'build your own model' roadshow and make xsd and db
schemata on the fly (that may of course go horribly wrong).
Just nice for people to see that something really exists and be
able to get touchy-feely with it...

This is a bit confusing, this email said it came from Leandro, presumably it’s actually from Allyson...?
Sounds like we should coordinate the posters / abstract writing a bit here. Leandro is planning to put a poster in on sysFusion, and Allyson one on Symba. I don’t think we need another two FuGE posters J
How about we put in a general FuGE abstract, describing the model itself, update on extensions and on tooling, for example taking some material from the workshop paper (which incidentally is just back with Norman so should be circulated a final time soon)? I’m happy to draft an abstract to submit before Tuesday but I won’t be able to actually do the poster or take it, so nearer the time we’d have to coordinate this. If anyone wants to give a demo of some FuGE software I’m sure this can be arranged ad hoc nearer the time.
Sound like a reasonable plan?
Andy
Hello,
Allyson sent me the mail because she was having problem with her Google Mail:
Hi Leandro,
Sourceforge seems to hate googlemail all of the sudden, and I can't get my post
through. Could you please forward this onto the list? thanks for letting us all
know about the mged meeting!
Andy, about submitting an abstract by Tuesday, I think Susanna said they will not select abstracts for talks for the Standards session so this deadline does not apply? The regular abstract deadline for posters is August 5th. Your proposal below sounds fine to me.
