Hello HP community, I have a weird problem whereby my elitebook 2570p won't detect my new Microsoft Bluetooth mouse,so far I have had to reinstall a fresh copy of windows 10 Enterprise, but this wont help, I have scoured this site and got an almost similar issue and downloaded the drivers{hp sp72617] only to realize that they are meant for windows 7 pro so cannot work on windows 10,I have tried through Windows update to no avail, now a friend has a similar pc and my mouse is detected and works flawlessly on his machine,so I have compared bluetooth drivers on his pc and here they are on his device manager

I went and checked the drivers and "Microsoft bluetooth device RFCOMM protocol TDI" is dated from 2006?? I ran as admin and checked for updates on the driver and windows claims this is "up to date"? There are no bluetooth drivers for this from ASUS?

I did a bit of troubleshooting and found that the reason is that in "device manager", under "bluetooth", the RFCOMM Protocol TDI keeps disabling itself, even if I click on "enable". After few secs the RFCOMM disables again automatically, and I don't know why, I think it is some software that commands the disabling maybe. How can I check if it is an app installed on the laptop that is causing RFCOMM to disable without reason?

You will find the protocol listed under Bluetooth in the Device Manager as an individual device. Many also ask whether disabling RFCOMM Protocol TDI poses any harm. Keep reading to find out the answers to all these questions and fixes for related errors.

RFCOMM Protocol TDI, where TDI stands for Transport Driver Interface, ensures the deployment of the RFCOMM protocol. The protocol allows connections with up to 60 devices simultaneously. The device, in itself, provides the TDI transport driver.

EDIT 3: I attempted to install Intel's drivers but they did not show up in the driver's list. I then realized that there were "hidden drivers" and indeed, the original bluetooth drivers were hidden for some reason. All of them were up to date, but when I viewed their "properties" they displayed "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)". Should I uninstall them?

EDIT 4: As per Microsoft's suggestion, I uninstalled the device drivers and attempted to restart to reinstall them. Nope, no reinstall. My bluetooth drivers are just gone forever now.

v.) Once the new drivers have been installed, restart your system. For me, when I checked my device drivers after restarting, the newly installed Bluetooth drivers were there, and working properly. Knowing how sporadic Windows 10 seems to be, this could differ on your system, in which case leave a comment explaining the problems you've encountered and I'll be happy to assist (even though I'm not actually an IT guy, I just got lucky in fixing my own problem I suppose).

I tried to uninstall the WLAN drivers, reinstalled the drivers. Removed the driver software for both WLAN and Bluetooth (Intel) but nothing helped. The functionality was simply completely gone as there would be no Bluetooth devices plugged in. I also tried the troubleshooter, did several reboots. Nothing helped.

DriverGuide maintains an extensive archive of Windows drivers available for free download. We employ a team from around the world which adds hundreds of new drivers to our site every day. How to Install Drivers Once you download your new driver, then you need to install it. To install a driver in Windows, you will need to use a built-in utility called Device Manager. It allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.

Many device drivers are not updated through the Microsoft Windows Update service. If you are having trouble finding the right driver, stop searching and fix driver problems faster with the Automatic Driver Update Utility. Automatic updates could save you hours of time.

Many computer problems are caused by missing or outdated device drivers, especially in Windows 11. If your desktop or laptop is running slow, or keeps crashing or hanging, there is a good chance that updating your drivers will fix the problem.

The Intel Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) is a reliable and efficient solution for Bluetooth communication between devices. Its compatibility with various Windows versions, support for simultaneous connections, ease of use, and productivity-enhancing features make it a valuable tool for file transfers, data sharing, and improved workflow. By regularly updating drivers and utilizing troubleshooting steps when needed, users can ensure compatibility and address any potential issues with ease.

Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) is a kernel device driver. In Windows 10 it is starting only if the user, an application or another service starts it. If Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) fails to start, the failure details are being recorded into Event Log. Then Windows 10 will start up and notify the user that the RFCOMM service has failed to start due to the error.

3. Close the command window and restart the computer. The RFCOMM service is using the rfcomm.sys file that is located in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers directory. If the file is removed or corrupted, read this article to restore its original version from Windows 10 installation media.

I just bought a new system and started to use it as I was going through the device manager Bluetooth device rfcomm protocol tdi appeared. Can anyone explain to me what is Bluetooth device RFCOMM Protocol TDI and is it suitable?

These embrace higher Bluetooth layers like the Open Exchange Protocol. OBEX is employed in file transfer operations. The RFCOMM protocol supports up to sixty synchronic connections between 2 Bluetooth devices. the amount of connections that may be used at the same time on a Bluetooth device depends on the implementation.

Thank you, I had lost Bluetooth function completely after a refresh,Win 8.1.
But with your help I was able to reinstall it. You do need to have commonsense and look at it logically and it was not easy, you would need to have a fairly in depth understanding of your computer and its device names. Also drivers have to be reinstalled and then updated, but as I said above, thank you. John from OZ.

The Intel Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) drivers are software programs that enable communication between the operating system on your computer and devices. These drivers play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and stability of your PC.

Note: The vendor name of the Bluetooth device may be different even the same model. The vendor name will be used on next steps to pair driver on the ASUS support site, please record it properly. (The vendor name of the Bluetooth device is [Intel] as an example.)

Drivers play an important role in keeping your device software connected to the hardware. Any problem with the concerned drivers may result in different bugs or errors. To correct this, you must keep all device drivers up to date. In case of Bluetooth not working, you should locate the responsible drivers and update them via Device Manager.

On the latest versions of Windows 10 or Windows 11, the device manager may fail to find any updates to the existing drivers. This is because of the fact that Microsoft is focused on increasing the Settings apps capabilities instead of working on core windows apps like Device Manager, Control Panel, etc.

At the most basic level, a UWP device app is a UWP app that's associated with a specific device via device metadata. There are four components to a UWP device app: a device, an app, a device metadata package, and a device driver. You don't need to use device metadata to access a peripheral device using the device protocol APIs (USB, HID, Bluetooth GATT, and Bluetooth RFCOMM). But you do need to use device metadata to enable special features such as automatic installation, AutoPlay, and device update.

There are six steps to creating a UWP device app, assuming you've already created your device and submitted any necessary drivers to the Hardware Dashboard. Click the links for more details about each step.

The first time you submit your app and device metadata to the various dashboards, the events must occur in a specific sequence. The following table also shows when to submit a device driver, if applicable.

Upon plugging the UB400 adapter into my Windows 10 PC, it shows a "driver error" in bluetooth devices. And in device manager, it shows as "Generic Bluetooth Radio". There is no adapter recognized in device manager. I've tried searching for and updating the driver software, but it says it's the latest. My expectation is that this is plug and play and should not require the 400mb software download from TP-Link.

Including communications systems in vehicles is producing significant advances in the automotive industry. However, in the future it is expected that communications between vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure will play an important role in the provision of services on board. Safety and mobility applications are likely to be the new wave of services in which communication systems and connectivity inside the vehicle will be key to its implementation [1,2,3]. Moreover, the autonomous vehicles, as the Google driverless car, are projects that involve developing technology for communications systems. Regarding connectivity with external devices, this is a new field of application with a potential large projection in the future [4]. This can be further divided into:

The obtained results in practice do not follow exactly this behaviour because the device driver is not fast enough to communicate instantaneously when the inquiry is complete. However, the results allow determining the time lapses where an inquiry request is completed with total probability. As can be seen, reducing the scan interval improves considerably the time to find a device keeping it under half a second.
