Third “Shaolian Cup” Fudan Alumni Annual Tennis Tournament & Picnic
Dear Fudan Alumni, Friends and Family,
After the two successful alumni tennis events in August 2010 and 2011, we would like to hold the 3rd alumni tennis party on Aug.26 (Saturday) 3:30—7:30pm, 2012. We will have tennis tournament for Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Double. We will have a picnic, so you can your bring home style dishes to share. In addition, we will have a tennis workshop for kids and beginners. USTA professionals will be the coach for the workshop. Meanwhile we will invite alumni experts to give seminars on children education, wealth management or common legal matters such real estate. The facility has a swimming pool, a children toys/games room and indoor party room.
We encourage you to participate in this family oriented and
kids-friendly party. The event is free, but please registers in advance for us
to better organize.

Activities:
1). Tracks: depends
on participation, we will have 3 tracks: Doubles Only (Men , Women and Mixed)
2). Play partner: You can bring your own partner (not necessary Fudan
alumni), or we will try to match you a partner prior to the event or onsite.
Please indicate this in the registration below.
3). Basic rules:
a. Games go by round-robin
(preferred) or elimination, depending on participation.
b. 8 points/game, whoever gets 8 points first wins the game, or the team get
the highest score within the time limit (40minutes). No Advantage. The team who
wins the most games is the champion.
c. Awards: each track will award gold & silver Trophy.
Final detailed game rules are subject to change based on the registration and participation.
Cost: Free, but donation is recommended for charity. This event is sponsored by Fudan School of Management in memory of its first dean Professor Shaolian Zheng.
Charity:
A donation of $50 / players’ team will go to Fudan University Education Development Foundation for two projects (details attached). $10/pp is also recommended for the tennis workshop.
Transportation:
The place is in central New Jersey, Summit area, which is half an hour drive from Manhattan. If you take train, we will arrange pick-up at the Chatham train station. If you need car pool, we will try to arrange.
