On November 21, 2014, the Asian Financial Society (AFS) will celebrate her 30th Anniversary Summit 2014 “New Success in USA” at the Bank of America Global Headquarter in Bryant Park, New York. The 300 attendees will be from both America and Asia, including some senior business executives/owners/investors from Asia and our senior members in New York City.
AFS was founded in 1984 in New York by Mr. Henry Tang and a group of forward visionary Wall Street Asian bankers. Henry Tang is also a co-founder of the Committee 100. As a Non-Profit organization, our members, mainly financial professionals and business people that share common vision, educational background and philanthropic interests, strive to contribute to the bilateral financial development and mutual beneficial economic activity between America and Asia.
After 30 years, AFS nowadays has 4,000+ members mainly in Wall Street and Asia financial centers (Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing). Our members, per their professional expertise, have formed 20 chapters covering all the major sub-fields in modern financial industry.
The last AFS Summit “Invest in USA” was held in 2012. On April 15, 2014, AFS organized in Shanghai our first grand forum “China Finance Internationalization Forum – 2014 Opportunity and Challenges” that served as the inauguration of AFS Shanghai Office after going through the 18-month long official screening and approval process.
On the 30th anniversary summit, AFS would like to elaborate the great business landscape, system dynamics and new successes and opportunities of the recovered US economy. As the ideal bridge and helper to both US economy and Asian enterprises that are on their way to expand into US, we believe that AFS New York headquarters, along with AFS Shanghai Office, will play an active role in helping Asian economies expand globally!
