Given the unprecedented nature of COVID-19, more changes to the admissions process may be necessary. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this site in addition to emailing our inquiries and applicant pool with official updates should changes occur.
Certain chronic or recurrent illnesses, including infectious, psychiatric or substance abuse problems that interfere with patient care or safety are not compatible with optometric practice or training. Other illnesses, such as immune disorders, may lead to a high likelihood of student illness and should be carefully considered. Candidates with questions or concerns about how their own conditions or disabilities might affect their ability to meet these functional standards are encouraged to meet with an optometry school counselor prior to submitting an application.
download word with school email
I am a high school student. I downloaded Microsoft Office 365 and provided a valid school email address; according to this page, students who do so should be able to get Office for free. However, when I log into Word with that address, I am still told it Word is "unlicensed" and I can only use basic features of the app. This is very frustrating because I need to use a Word template for an upcoming project. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.
Microsoft offers the Outlook App for mobile devices and tablets: -us/outlook-com/mobile/. This app can be used on iPhones, Android phones, and tablets. It provides the best email experience for your mobile devices and is highly recommended for seamless mobile connectivity. Using the Outlook App, you only need to input in your email address and password; no other information is required.
When you log in to GoCSN, Canvas, MyCSN, campus computers, or other CSN systems, you use your NSHE ID. To log in to your CSN Email account you need to indicate to Microsoft which email/school you belong to so you need to include " student.csn.edu". So to log in to your CSN Email your username will be "NSHEID student.csn.edu" . Use the same password you use to log into GoCSN. Whenever being asked to log in to a system, use your username/NSHEID.
For convenience when communicating with others, CSN provides an email address as an alias to your username. Your email address is "FirstName.LastName csn.edu", except in rare cases where a number (e.g. 01) is added to the end. This happens when you have the same name as another student, and you are informed about this address at the time you validate the account. You can find your alias email address using a couple of methods:
If you're a student, teacher or faculty member with an active school email address, you're likely eligible to get access to Office 365 for free through Microsoft, with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams, plus other classroom tools.
All you have to do is enter your school email address on this page on Microsoft's website: Office 365 Education. In many cases, you'll be instantly granted access thanks to an automated verification process. If you attend an institution that needs to be verified, it might take up to a month to confirm your eligibility.
Bi-Annual Cybersecurity Training Due October 31: All faculty, staff and student employees should complete the bi-annual cybersecurity training by Tuesday, October 31. MacDonald Middle School physical education teacher Dennis Petrowitz used the N-word while interacting with sixth grade students on Wednesday, May 10, during his fourth- and sixth-hour classes after an incident involving students using the same racial slur.
It goes without saying that the following ten words and phrases aren't necessarily bad, or should be dropped altogether. Rather, we're urging you to get those creative gears turning to think of your school-specific synonyms to these broad and general terms.
Why you shouldn't use it: Academic excellence and rigor are buzzwords in the realm of independent school marketing. Let's be real: families won't invest in an education that's anything short of excellent or rigorous.
Why you shouldn't use it: What is education without student and faculty relationships? Thie vague statement can be said by any private, public, or charter school. You need to point out what makes your faculty relationships special.
Why you shouldn't use it: Using the word "unique" is a great way to say that you're not unique. Every school is unique in its own way. Using a word like this on your site is a great way to bore a website visitor really fast.
What you could say instead: Rather than saying your school community is diverse, prove it. The Episcopal School of Dallas addresses diversity head-on with the slogan "Unity, not Uniformity," making it easy to infer that even if you're different, you are part of the community. Now that's quite the impact.
Your school is one-of-a-kind, and the language you use to describe your campus, academics, athletics, and community should be, too. Take an analysis of your school's website content, and if you're using one of these ten vague terms (or ones like it!) consider what words, phrases, photos and videos you can use instead to make an impact.

We send this word, glower, out to the glaring grumps, the scowling scoundrels, and the pouting pessimists of the world. Its gloomy roots grow in Scotland, where glower (or glowren, to use the older Scottish form of the word) has been used since the late Middle Ages. Originally, the word meant simply "to look intently" or "to stare in amazement," but by the late 1700s, glowering stares were being associated with anger instead of astonishment. We can offer no explanation for this semantic development, but we will submit that in its evolved form it reminds us of an older and unrelated English word: lower (it rhymes with flower) means "to frown or look sullen."
Personal statements, supplemental essays, and free responses provide students with a valuable opportunity to have an authentic voice in the college admission process. While students may turn to a variety of resources such as parents/guardians, English teachers, and school counselors in order to generate ideas, the content must be their own. Generative artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT may also serve as a resource, but must only be used as a guide; content must never be directly copied from AI or other sources. The submission of original content not only adheres to the ethical expectations in applying to college, but benefits the applicant by having their authentic personal story valued by the Admission Committee.
Boston College looks for students who are in the most challenging courses available at their high schools. Our most competitive applicants tend to have a high school program with four years of the five main subjects: English, Math, Social Science, Natural Science, and Foreign Language. We do appreciate that high schools can offer a variety of programs and consider that in our application review.
