The N and KN editions of Windows 10 include the same functionality as Windows 10, except for media-related technologies (Windows Media Player) and certain preinstalled media apps (Groove Music, Video, Voice Recorder, and Skype). You must install other software from Microsoft or a third-party for this communication functionality and to play or create audio CDs, media files, and video DVDs, to stream music, and to take and store pictures. New features such as Cortana and PDF viewing in the new Edge browser rely on Windows Media files that are not present in these editions.
Some websites and software, such as Windows Store apps or Microsoft Office, use Windows Media-related files that are not incorporated into these editions of Windows. Users can make these websites and software work correctly by installing the Media Feature Pack for N and KN editions of Windows 10.
The N and KN editions include the same functionality as Windows 10 editions, except for Windows Media Player and related technologies. The excluded technologies include, but are not limited to, the following features:
Windows Media Player user experience: Enables Windows Media Player features such as the ability to play media files and audio CDs, manage media in a library, create a playlist, provide metadata (including album art) for media, create an audio CD, transfer music to a portable music player, and play streaming content from a website.
Windows Media Format: Provides support for the Advanced Systems Format (ASF) file container, the Windows Media audio and video codecs, basic network streaming capability, and digital rights management (DRM).
Media sharing and Play To: Enables music, pictures, and videos on a networked computer to be shared with other computers and devices on the same network. Also enables computers to find those kinds of files on the network.
VC-1, MPEG-4, H.264, H.265, and H.263 codecs: "Standards-based codec components" (as they are collectively called) enable Windows 10 program such as Windows Media Player to support activities that include the playback and creation of multimedia files that are encoded with standards-based codecs.
كنّا نعلم منذ ما يقرب العام بأنّ أيّام تطبيق Google Play Music باتت معدودة في عالم التقنية واليوم أُعلن رسميًّا عن موته حقيقة وأمرًا واقعًا لتقرّر الشركة الأمريكيّة إنهاء وجود الخدمة في عالم الويب والأندرويد بعد تجربة ضحلة قصيرة العمر.
الآن وعند فتح تطبيق تشغيل الموسيقى سيرى المستخدم على الأرجح شاشة بيضاء الهيئة تضم رمز خدمة Play Music يتحوّل إلى علامة منصّة YouTube Music مع كتابة بالخطّ العريض تخبرك بأنّ تطبيق تشغيل الموسيقى الافتراضي سابقًا من Google لم يعد متاحًا بعد الآن وعليك الانتقال بمكتبة الموسيقى خاصّتك إلى تطبيق YouTube Music. أدناها سيُتاح أمامك زرّأن الأوّل لبدء عملية نقل موسيقاك والآخر لإدارة بياناتك وذلك الأخير سيقودك إلى موقع Google Play Music حيث يمكنك تنزيل وحذف مكتبة الموسيقى خاصّتك بالكامل وكذلك حذف تاريخ سجّل التوصيات وبمجرّد قيامك بذلك ستختفي أداة الوصول السريع للخدمة تلقائيًّا من شاشة هاتفك الرئيسيّة.

تلك كانت أجواء الموت السريريّ والذي لا رجعة فيه لإحدى منصّات Google وفي الوقت الذي لا يبدو وأنّ تلك الإجراءات قدّ مسّت كلّ مستخدميّ الخدمة والتطبيق فإنّها تنتشر تدريجيًّا بين المستخدمين. بالنسبة لأولئك الذين يتساءلون عمّا إذا كانت عمليّة تغيير تاريخ وتوقيت الهاتف يدويًّا قد تساعد في تأجيل أو تحييد الحجب النهائي للخدمة فإنّه على خطأ والتجربة أثبتت ذلك. الطريقة الوحيدة التي قد يكون بمقدورها استعادة التطبيق ليعمل مجدّدًا تكمن في إرجاعه للنسخة الأصليّة الأساسيّة في نظام تشغيل الهاتف من خلال إلغاء تثبيت التحديثات. ثمّ يتوجّب إيقاف تفعيل التحديثات التلقائيّة للتطبيقات في متجر Play Store وبالتأكيد عقد الأمل بأن لا تُقدم Google على الإلغاء والإيقاف الإجباري لخدمتها منتهية الصلاحي بطرق أخرى.
لعلّ Google لم تفكّر جديًّا بطرح حلول بديلة وسهلة للطريقة التي سيُضطرّ المستخدم من خلالها للتعامل مع بيانات النوسيقى خاصّته المخزّنة محلّيًّا في الهاتف المحمول أيّ في حال كنت قد حمّلت أو احتفظت ببعض ملفّات الموسيقا والصوت في هاتفك المحمول فلن تتمكّن من الوصول إليها بأي طريقة تُذكر من خلال تطبيق Google Play Music بعد الآن وستشغل مساحة تخزين من هاتفك.
إن كنت قد حمّلت بعض الموسيقى للوصول إليها دون اتصال عبر خدمة Google Play Music فقد يتوجّب عليك حذفها للتخلّص من عبء مساحتها التخزينيّة ويمكنك القيام بذلك من خلال الضغط المطوّل على أيقونة التطبيق في واجهة نظام التشغيل ومن ثم اختيا معلومات التطبيق (App Info) من القائمة التي تظهر وبعد ذلك اختر التخزين (Storage) ومن هناك ستكون قادرًا على حذف الذاكرة المخبّأة للتطبيق مع بيانات الموسيقى دون اتصال.
إن كنت تعتمد كليًّا على مشغّل الموسيقا Play Music لتشغيل موسيقاك المخزّنة محليًّأ دون اتصال في الهاتف فيوسفنا القول إنّك ستضطرّ لاستخدام مشغّل موسيقا آخر لهاتفك.
في سياق لآخر فقد توقّفت نسخة الويب من الخدمة عبر الموقع music.google.com قد فارقت الوجود تقريبًا وتعرض ذات الشاشة والخيارات التي تُعرض في تطبيق الهاتف المحمول.
