http://www.hbigda.org/Documents2/socv6.pdfThat link is for the Harry Benjamin Intenational Gender Dysphoria
Association's (HBIDA) Standards of Care. This is the most up to date
version, and is what most therapists and clinics go by. On page 13 is
the information regarding the regulations for administering hormones
to trans patients.
I know of very few therapists or clinics who will require a year of
counceling, and I know of equally as few who will give under the
requested 3 months. The 3 month rule is a great one, gives you time,
no matter how long you've wanted it or how sure you are. There are
ways to bypass even the 3 months but I am not at liberty to tell you
now as I haven't heard of why you'd need to, nor do I think it's a
smart idea.
I do know what you mean about trying "to feel normal the way I know I
was meant to be." My suggestion to you is to find a competant
therapist who you don't have to "train" in the ways of gender
transition. Most big cities and a surprising number of smaller cities
have very competent professionals who can help you.

permission. It is an excellent resource for people just beginning to
transition, as it's very inclusive and informative. I reccomend taking
a look at it.
