Being Trans in Relationship: Navigating relationship when one or more
partners are trans - Presenter Kim Hraca, M.A., MFT

What happens to my identity when my partner transitions?

If I am not already in a relationship, how will I disclose my gender issues
to prospective partners?

Is/Will my partner truly sexually satisfied?

If I am transitioning, will/ does my partner resent the changes in me?

What happens or has happened to our connection to lesbian community?

How can we keep our relationship strong through so many changes?

How can I communicate honestly about my fears and worries when I'm concerned
about hurting my partner's feelings?

These are only a sample of the issues we will discuss in this 3-hour
meeting. Please come and bring your relationship challenges and
victories. Through discussion and small group meetings, you will have an
opportunity to share ideas, hear how others handle similar situations, and
get support for strengthening relationships.

Kim Hraca is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in
Berkeley, CA. She specializes in working with people who have
unconventional gender and sexual identities. She also works more generally
on self-image, intimacy, work-satisfaction, creativity and spirituality,

trainings, and recently co-facilitated with Max Fuhrmann, Ph.D. a Trans
Couple Retreat for trans men and their partners in Joshua Tree, CA (Feb 2007).
