UPDATE: 26 June 2013

TWO TRUCKLOADS of goods including 400 blankets have been donated in Delhi to Sone Ki Chidiya Federation for despatch to Uttarakhand. Thanks to all the Delhi folks who have contributed. This material will be sent out in a day or two.

We have entered into an arrangement with Swami Ramdev/ Acharyaji to deliver the materials to Patanjali Yogpeeth from where it will then be added to the tens of truckloads of relief materilas they are currently sending out.

I'd like to suggest that SKCF won't be able to send goods from outside Delhi, given the high costs of doing so. So it is recommended that if you are from outside Delhi, please contribute money, instead.

Note that collection of goods in Delhi will continue for a few more days.

I'd like to thank Wing Commander KK Verma and the Delhi team for tireless work. This is a huge contribution, with deep involvement from the community. Tens of people including elderly women and others are coming in to donate. KK Verma tells me that it is experience that is humbling and never to be forgotten. India cares.

In addition, Rs. 1.25 lakhs was collected till yesterday. If you wish, please contribute. This is a major calamity. Informal reports are putting death toll into thousands. Tens of thousands will be homeless and in desperate trouble with the onset of the cold weather in a month or two. Details on how to contribute: http://sonekichidiya.in/sone-ki-chidiya-federation-now-helping-coordinate-uttarakhand-relief-work/

Also, to those who haven't yet joined the SKC Federation, please do so. We have a lot of work not just in this area of relief work but in terms of reforming India's governance. There is no fee to join, at present. Details on SKC website: http://sonekichidiya.in/get-involved/membership/

Sanjeev
