Dear Friends

A few weeks ago I sent out a preliminary set of slides on a proposed strategy for comment. I received a number of inputs from a number or people. There was also the usual extensive debate within FTI and we have now voted and approved a working document that we have now published here: http://freedomteam.in/content/ftis-strategy

I'm forwarding the PDF copy for your convenience. The PPT can be obtained from the above link.

I will be grateful if you could read this document and act as appropriate. Comments are also welcome, for further improvement. Our rule is the person who makes a comment should do something about it - e.g. lead in its implementation.

Please also circulate widely, particularly among the many new political and reform formations in India whom we are hoping to invite/ engage more actively in the coming months.

While I'm on this periodic update, let me update:
a) Sone Ki Chidiya Federation has received over Rs.5.5 lakhs (perhaps crossed 6 by now) for Uttarakhand relief work. Please contribute more: Details: http://sonekichidiya.in/sone-ki-chidiya-federation-now-helping-coordinate-uttarakhand-relief-work/
b) A new FTI website has gone live (http://freedomteam.in/), although much improvement will occur in the following weeks.
c) Election Commission of India has received the Swarna Bharat Party application and asked us to publish an advertisement inviting objections. If all goes well, this should be registered by December this year.
d) Policy committees have been established and five policy consultants appointed (we have about 15 more vacancies at Rs.10K each).
e) Preliminary discussions to establish a Chanakya School of Governance have been held with National Law College but I would request support from others to get IIM Ahmedabad, etc. on board so we can actually get good governance training in India.
f) In addition to the strategic initiatives outlined in the strategy document, SKCF/ associates are planing to hold a meeting in Delhi in August to thoroughly discuss the Draft Total Reform Agenda and prepare it for the launch in November when we hope to get signatures of all SKC senior members and many other eminent thinkers.

Regards
Sanjeev
