We have from a few people that reported they were charged a higher rate from the Marriott beyond what we had negotiated for our room block. If you are in that situation and we don't know about it yet, please send email to teamreg at ftcwest.org.

What was the negotiated rate?

We were charged $130 for a king and $135 for a double, plus 14% room
tax.

Jim,

That sounds like the correct rate.

We were charged $229 for a couple of the nights. They told us we couldn't get the rate those nights.

Hi All - Major problems with pricing at the Marriott. By the time we qualified for Oakland, the special block rates were gone. The issue is what we are paying for Wednesday night:  we are paying $269 a night (Th/Fri/Sat)  and on WEDNESDAY NIGHT the rate is $419.  They refused to give us a rate of $269 because they said said another group is in there on Wednesday and are paying $419 for that night; therefore, we have to pay that too. I'll email Becca so she's aware of the $419 for Wednesday.
