All,

Here is another Outreach opportunity that was forwarded to me by Norman.  Chris Mankle is a parent of a robotics Alum.

It is on a Friday during school, and Norman will get the absence excused.

I need a parent willing to transport and organize this outreach.  By organize, all you really need to do is figure out who is able and willing to go and send the list to Norman to get the excused absence.

Read below for more information.

If you are willing to do this, please send me email.

Linda and Vincent,  What we are looking for is in the 11:00-12:00 time slot on the 28th of April is for the WHS FIRST girls is to present what they do in robotics at WHS.  Robot demo would be GREAT, if possible.  I also feel a couple videos and discussion with the girls on what it is like in WHS Robotics.

We are trying to get girls excited in STEM.

The address for the event is:

9500 Metric Blvd., Suite 100
Austin, TX 78758

————— A Young Woman At Work: Building An Understanding Of IT CareerOpportunities —————

Our goal is to extend an invitation to the young women in their lives between the ages of 12 and 18 to join them at work for a day full of activities, camaraderie, and the chance to learn about what the world of work is like.

We chose to focus on young women in this age range for this event, based on the information depicted in the graph below, provided by Girls Who Code. This day is an opportunity for Atos employees to spark an interest in IT careers with this audience.

The day will begin with a conference call, outlining expectations and the schedule for the day, sharing insights and information about getting prepared for the working world. Next our guests will be treated to a vendor-sponsored workshop focused on cloud labor, followed by the chance meet girls in the FIRST Robotics program, and an interactive scavenger hunt that will weave its way throughout the day, providing opportunities to ask questions of the onsite staff.

Our guests will be encouraged to share their observations on social media, using the hashtag #GIRL ( G irls I nspired (by) R eal L ife). The day will end with another conference call where the young women take the mic and talk about what they learned.
