Arizona spring training tournament

Dear FTC Thunder 11u families:

 

As some of you know, we are planning a 5-day trip to Arizona to play in a tournament this March 12-15.  The tentative plan is to leave on Wednesday, March 11, spend Thursday, March 12 at Spring Training (minor league camp and a major league game), and play in a tournament from Friday the 13^th to Saturday the 15^th.

 

Please respond to this email *by this Friday, September 26* if you are *available* to commit your player to this tournament.  If you do not respond, we will assume your response is “no.”

 

Coach Lonell and Coach Mike intend to take 10-12 players to this tournament.  Based on the number of available players, and the managers’ evaluation of their performance through the Fall, a Spring Training roster will be decided by November 1.

 

The approximate cost of registration fees, hotel, and coach’s fees will be around $715 per player.  This presumes that hotel rooms (which have a 6-person capacity) will be split between two families, and does not include personal travel expenses, meals, and game tickets.

Hello Thunder 11U Family,
 
I am following up with Dylan's email below.  So far, we have 8 boys committed to attending the spring tournament held by Triple Crown Sports in the greater Phoenix area.  ( Committed boys:  JT, Jared, Adam, Matthew, Conner, Jesse, Taer, and Alex)
 
Our plan is to play in the 4 game tournament format.  The team entry fee is $1,050.00.   
 
There are a few things that must be addressed before our boys are able to play:
1)  We need at least 10 boys.
2)  I will need to collect $105.00 per player (assuming we have 10 players) asap.
3)  Once tournament fees are paid, parents will receive an e-consent via email.  Please respond to the e-consent      
      immediately.
4)  I can then reserve a block of rooms at one of the local hotels.  Triple Crown has negotiated some great rates for teams
      playing in their tournament in March.  We need to book asap or risk losing these great rates.  Hotels are filling up fast
      due to MLB spring training and this tournament.
 
First thing I need, is to hear back from those families who's boy's names do not appear above.  Once we have 10 committed players, I can move forward with the to-do list above.

I apologize for sending this out to everyone, but as soon as I get time and the specific email addresses, I will make a group list just for those participating in the Arizona tournament.
 
I need to begin collecting the $105.00 from each family beginning tonight.  You may pay cash or make a check out payable to Dana Slawsby.
 
I can then begin the process of registering FTC Thunder 11U for the Triple Crown tournament.

I was able to get a block of rooms for our team at a great rate (169.00 per night) through Triple Crown's agreement.  I have held the rooms on my personal credit card.  If you plan to stay elsewhere or share a room with another family please let me know asap.  At this point, only Single King Size Beds are available.  Each room has a pullout sofa bed as well.  Please reserve your room asap.
