Anyone interested in working on

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=698336 or
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=698337

It should not be too difficult to implement. You have to get a list of
mirrors and create an option to select one from that. It would be a
good learning opportunity to work on a real world software and
something that thousands of people going to find useful.

Reply here if you'd like to try.

You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your
rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as
they follow the rules: laws and constitution.

Hi all,
To further it, there is also a small project on
http://people.skolelinux.org/pere/blog/Using_modalias_info_to_find_packages_handling_my_hardware.html
. There is a small shell script
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/debian-edu/trunk/src/hw-support-handler/hw-support-lookup?view=co
which could be downloaded and see if it helps after your base install
and see if it works or not. The dev. in question is looking for more
feedback on it.

Oh, btw there is possibility of Wheezy RC-1 coming out on Monday or
Tuesday (that's the notion I got while lurking and listening to dev.
talk on #debian-boot).

Till l8er.
