Malayalam newspaper Deepika has a story on Google Summer of Code projects done under smc

Summary for those who can't read Malayalam: News covers Google Summer of code students under smc. Ershad has completed web based malayalam bibliographic database (information like author, publisher, price, availability in local libraries etc). It is available at grandham.org Nandaja has completed automated rendering testing system and it helps finding out bugs in fonts and rendering engines (softwares required for proper display of indian languages in computers). Nithin worked on redesigning silpa indian language processing web application.

Another Malayali presence in this program is Nalin, who developed a special input method for blind people and added support for it in tuxtype.
