Normally linux boot with single desktop(for one user)
we can also start different desktop as different users(or same
users)
we can also start different desktop as different users(or same

ALT+CTRL+F1
login:user1
password:
user@localhost$startx -- :1
this will another gui
ALT+CTRL+F2
login:user2
password:
user2@localhost$startx -- :2
similarly we can start different graphical desktops
use ALT+ F7,ALT+ F8,ALT+ F9 ... to switch between desktops
