Hi Friends,

Free Software Cell of Govt. Engineering College
(http://www.gecbh.ac.in), Barton hill and Zyxware Technologies
(http://zyxware.com) is jointly  organizing a one day workshop on the
library management software in free software domain,
Koha(http://koha.org)  on 24-07-2010 Saturday, between  9:30AM and
4:30PM at the college campus.

The entire session will be handled by Sri. Vimal Kumar, Assistant
Librarian, Asian School of Business, Technopark Campus, Trivandrum who
has vast experience in using, maintaining and updating data base on
Koha.

Here is the Koha workshop session details,

Morning Session

1. Introduction to open source library management systems
2. Installation of Koha
3. Koha System Administration: setting global preferences
4. Cataloging
5. Zebra management

Afternoon session

6. Management of Patrons module
7. Circulation Management
8. Report generation
9. OPAC
10. Scheduling backup using webmin

A nominal registration fee of Rs.300/- per participant is charged,
which is intended to meet the cost of course itinerary  (Koha
pre-installed, Ubuntu live DVD), course participation certificate,
working lunch and light refreshments.
