Hi guys,
This is my first post.
On installing windows,we lose the linux boot manager which must be
reconfigured using live cds or recovery discs.
But here is 2 easy ways,
(1)Use OSL2000 software from
http://www.osloader.com/
it can manage upto 100 OS.
though its a shareware, it can be used because u can download the
unregistered version which is more than enough.
the only diffrence between the unregisted & registered version is
that, its unregisterd version shows an additional nagging screen on
booting.
(2)Use EasyBCD from
http://neosmart.net/
its a free software but have compatibility issues with windows xp.It
can be easily used with win7 or vista.
The main advantage of these loaders are that,
(1)a constant windows user can easily install and uninstall these apps
by his will.
(2)it supports BSD,Solaris,Mac (Grub may show some compatibility
issues with the filesystems, like ZFS used in pc-bsd,solaris,etc)
There is also an other FOSS option,
its called GAG boot manager found in,
gag.sourceforge.net
It have good(one of best) GUI.
it also supports BSD,Solaris etc.
But its a bit difficult to install.
U cant install it from windows.
the download of GAG includes a complete Documentation of its
installation.
I hope u guys find this useful.
Plz dont forget to give ur feedback.
