Lots of FSH Junior Board Info! Happy January!

Hello fellow FSH Junior Board members,
Happy January! It's Lena here, FSH's Skating Coordinator and FSH/Jr. Board Liason, with lots of info for you. FSH's first big event of the season, the 15th Annual Gwendolyn Simmons Soul on Ice Winter Skating Party is almost here!
1.) Important Event Info:
The party is a huge public skating party run by the FSH Parents Association. For the event, we sell tickets ($15) and raffles ($1 each) to benefit our girls. No one is required to attend or sell tickets, but of COURSE the funds are much needed for FSH. This is the only opportunity for you to skate alongside FSH girls, friends and attendees all together, so please sell and invite away! Please see me in the office to pick-up tickets and raffles, or let me know and I can get them to you. The party will be held on Sat. February 4th at Lasker Rink in Central Park and the event officially begins at 1:30pm.
-In the middle of the event all of our girls will be doing a short skating demonstration by group (run by on-ice staff) and Harlem Ice synchronized team will be performing their program. Our parents and staff take care of the staffing and some general set-up & breakdown tasks.
-All Junior Board members/volunteers are not required to attend, but are welcome to purchase a ticket to join in the fun. If you're interested in volunteering for a post during the skating party, let me know!

Lastly, many local businesses, co-workers and friends that you know of can contribute financially or with an in-kind donation. Be sure to check with your employers to see if they offer a matching funds program and/or other corporate sponsorship. In the case of goods donations and large sponsorships our office provides recognition and promotion to donors. See me for information and letters to give out to those you know!

2.) Junior Board After-Party event!
The Junior Board will again host "Après Skate" this year, organized by Stephanie. It will be a happy hour event right near the rink in Central Park after the Winter Skating Party, so great incentive for you and friends to come. Details: At Bier International. From 3:30 to 5:30 on February 4th. Stephanie will be in touch I'm sure if she needs your help working the event, and with an event flyer & Facebook event so that you can pass far and wide to your friends.
3.) FSH Career Week
It seems FSH filled up pretty quickly for Career Week trips planned for the girls this February. I know some Jr. Board people were trying to organize trips with your companies/workplace for the girls to visit…the Program office staff here was thinking it’d be great to schedule some of these Career trips instead in April, when we are planning to still have the girls in academics but have no ice anymore. 4.) The Standard Ice Rink Outing
Fiona will be in touch about planning the Standard Ice Rink outing for us to have some fun some time in January. Stay tuned.
