11/14 Conference Call Recap

Hi everyone,

Thanks to all of you who dialed in today!  Here's a recap of the call:

1. FSH Holiday Party
Date: Wednesday, December 14th
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Location: The Dressing Room, 75a Orchard Street (between Broome and Grand)

Erin will be organizing the logistics with the venue, so stay tuned.  We are trying to get an open bar for the full 2 hours.  Sharon has really stressed the desire to make this party completely free for the FSH Staff as a thank you. 
* IMPORTANT:  We are asking that everyone please contribute some sort of finger food for the event (baked goods, fruit and cheese platters, etc.)  Please send the item(s) you are planning to bring to Erin and I, and send the amount you spent to Stephanie so that it goes towards your annual give and get.
We also need someone to step up to help lead with coordinating all the food, make a checklist for everything needed for the party etc.  If you'd like to volunteer, please email me!


2. Career Week at FSH
Every year in January (week of President's Day weekend) FSH hosts a career week for the girls.  We are looking for companies/workplaces who can host our students, so please reach out to your employers or friends/family to see if anyone can help out.  In the past we've had visits to a hospital surgery unit, to a UPS warehouse, a bowling alley, and even a trip to Washington DC to see Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.  Once you have a lead, please let me know and I'll have Sharon write an official letter for you to give out.

3. Next in-person meeting
We are thinking first week of December, so stay tuned for possible next dates!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I missed the call yesterday. I'm going to be out of town for the holiday party, but I'd be interested in helping with career week. I'm happy to host a group of girls here at Google NY and can look into finding colleagues to help out. We can do a tour of the office and maybe have someone speak on careers in tech/engineering. Any idea how big of a group to expect and which age group?
