Are these juvenile nankeen night-herons? There were two in the small trees on the Oaklands side yesterday morning.

Yes they are juvenile Night-Herons. Ben’s Swamp  seems to be their favourite roost area as it was years ago.  According to the resident on the corner there are lots there.
