Course registration for summer term

21 April 2017

 

All students of GU are hereby intimated that course registration for summer term 2016-17 commences on 01 May 2017 and closes on 05 May 2017. Students who are debarred in end term examination in May 2017 including Winter term of 2016-17 are advised to register for the summer courses in the summer term.

A student shall be permitted to register for a maximum of four theory courses and two lab courses. Student is advised to strictly follow the schedule of academic calendar for summer term 2016-17 and maintain good attendance. As per academic regulation in student handbook (section 4.8), “A student who had attendance below 50% in regular term is not permitted to do summer courses.”

 

Following guidelines are given for course registration for summer term

 

1.      A Student has to do online course registration in I-SIM for summer term 2016-17.

2.      A student is permitted the maximum of four theory courses and two lab courses in the summer term.

3.      The School shall publish the list of courses mapped in different time slots of summer term before the online course registration. Students must consult the slot-course mapping published by the respective school before online course registration. Students must ensure that two courses of summer term are not scheduled in the same time slot. Students are advised to discuss with respective programme chairs before online course registration.

4.      If a student wrongly chooses two courses in same time slot then one course shall be dropped by the programme chair (PC).

5.      After online course registration, the students must take the print out of registered courses in two copies. Students shall submit the copies to PC for verification of courses and slots to avoid conflict of two courses in same slot. One approved copy of PC/Dean shall be collected by the students.

6.      The students will submit the approved copy of registered courses to the accounts section and deposit the registration fees.

7.      A student must submit a copy of the fee receipt to PC for cross verification of courses & slots, and for documentation.

8.      The course registration for summer term shall be confirmed only after the submission of the fee receipt to PC.

9.      Students who were promoted late and missed the courses of Fall 2016-17 are permitted to registrar all courses.

10.  A student has to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in summer term to be eligible to appear for any examination of summer term.

11.  Registration in the summer course with be cancelled if a student’s attendance at any point falls below 50%.
