Weekly round up

Fleet reps can you please send this on

Howdy all,

It's a big weekend for dinghy sailing, with many of the FSC sailors
competing in their State Championships.
FSC is hosting the 420 class on the Saturday and Sunday
Hilary's is hosting the optimist class for bronze, silver and gold sailors,
SAT- MON
SOPYC are hosting the lasers, 4.7, radials, full rig, and masters. SAT-MON

All classes require that you are members of the class association and have a
silver card ( yachting WA website) to enter.

Matthew will be going to the optimist states to support  FSC sailors (bronze
will not be ocean racing and will have support vessels from Hillary's).
Bronze will also need to tell Hillary's so they can allocate you a plastic
opti. Call me ASAP if they tell you they have run out.

Teams racing takes a break for the next 2 weeks. Therefore there will be no
training this week. Thanks to Ben for his coaching. We now have 3 wins from
4 race nights, with 1 more to come.

Twilight Sailing: I have attached the information for this. I think this is
am great initiative by FSC. If you are a sailor that enjoys sailing, but
doesn't want to compete at a serious level then this could be for you. The
evenings are long and balmy with just enough wind to challenge. There will
be a support boat but no coaching as this is about fun.

Thursday night continued  to be busy with great demand on club ribs. This
resource needs to be managed so if you wish a rib, please tell Steve Darke
and the HM and drop me  ( if AB is not here) an  email. It's not going to be
possible in the short term for coaches and sailors to be flexible in their
training days.

Thursday night also saw the first of our dinners. I have attached a photo of
us all enjoying our food and drink. Thanks to all those that came and
cooked, then stayed and ate, and then washed up! It was a great evening and
yes, to all those that asked, we will be doing it again very soon!. The
twilight event above will be an excellent opportunity to socialise plus
another reason not have to cook rush home

The bosuns led by Peter Blaxell, are busily sourcing and sorting marks,
buoys and anchors and building some more optimist sail racks. Thank you for
organizing this, it will be great to have everything ready to go. If you
have any spare time on Saturday, wander into the sheds and volunteer.

Laser sailors can you please nominate a "Laser Representative" someone to
represent you on FSC Dinghy Committee, to forward you all these important
emails, Also how is the "Social Function" coming along

Can you please send this to others that you think may not be getting this
information, still haven't got a full email list.

THERE WILL BE NO COACHING OR RACING (EXCEPT 420 ) AT FSC THIS WEEKEND

Cheers

Keith Charlwood

HI Keith,

Can you please Email this to all Junior and Dinghy sailors?

Dear Sailors

I am writing to invite you to twilight sailing for Dinghy at Fremantle
Sailing Club. This is a new evening to get out and enjoy sailing with no
pressure to race or competing with anyone. I would like to get as many
sailors out as possible from Finns and Lasers to Optimists and Pacers. There
will be a charge of $5 per person to help towards having a safety boat out
on the water. After the sailing we would like you all to come to the sunset
deck where BBQ packs and drinks will be available. This is not just for
young children but all dinghy sailors. Rescue boats will be on the water
from 1615 till 1815.

Please come and enjoy sailing for a bit of fun and socialising. Any
questions please speak to Steve Darke in the sailing office

sailin...@fsc.com.au
or call 9435 8809

If possible please let me know if you are attending so I can get an idea of
numbers.

Kind Regards,

Steve Darke
SAILING AND EVENTS MANAGER
