Sailing Timetable 27/3
Hi all,
Last Sunday was a quieter day with not so many sailors. The wind was not so good either with the river being flat calm at lunch time, this delayed the start but things improved and we had a nice sea breeze and enjoyed some great sailing conditions.
This Sunday is Club Championship Heat 5 which as per previous messages will be held at the RPYC Annexe, as we are all at Freemantle there will be no training on Sunday morning at Crawley. We would like to see as many people as possible at the Annexe so you are all invited to join us on our day out. For those that do not intend to sail we are making use of the large start boat so there is plenty of space available to watch the afternoons races. We would encourage those sailors that are currently training on a Sunday morning to join us and not only experience another part of the club but also learn a little more about racing with viewing not only from onboard Challenger but also the sea wall around Bathers Bay. This race is also an open invitation to sailors from Freemantle Sailing Club with indications that quite a number will be joining us on the start line this will add to the day to make it one to remember.
There will be a member of staff in the Bar at the Annexe from 12 noon onwards with drinks and rolls available. After the racing a barbeque will be laid on with steak, sausages and salad for $15 per head. We will also be joined by a number of sailors taking part in the Cape Naturalist Ocean Race whom should be returning to the Annexe after their adventure on the high seas.
I have included as attachments to this email a map showing how to find the Annexe for those that have not been there before and also a sheet detailing the courses that we use and their associated flags (be aware of these as we may not give you the course in the briefing).
Freemantle Sailing Club have invited our sailors to join them on Saturday for their training / racing sessions if you wish to join them then please contact me so that I can help you with the arrangements. In short the Optimists should be rigged and ready to start training at 9.00am with the Optimist race after 10.00am the other classes start their race at 14.00 so would need to be there in plenty of time for that.
There will be one other email this week regarding our end of season wind up look out for the details.
Things coming up are:
Mandurah Easter Regatta – MOFSC 6th to 9th April 2012
RPYC Fun Day – 15th April 2012
The training this week is as follows:
Wednesday 28th – Training from 4pm til 6pm (Both Optimists and Lasers)
Sunday 1st – NO Training am - 14.00 Club Championship Heat 5 RPYC Annexe
See you soon J
