Hi all can you please send this out to your fleets.

Howdy all,

The racing season is officially over for FSC dinghy. Now it's time to collate the results and get ready for the presentation night . It is planned for Friday 18th of May, and I will send out more details soon, but please keep this night free.

Dinghy continues to train over winter. I will send out the official training schedule when I have talked to principal coach Arthur Brett when he returns next week.

Thursday training for Gold Optimists has been canceled by Matthew to allow the sailors to rest up before their weekend of sailing.

I have asked Luke for his training choice and await a reply, stay tuned. Sean will not be at Thursdays training

Lasers and boards are training on Wednesday.

420 will train with Tessa on Tuesday

There is no training this Easter weekend,

You can still enter and sail at Mandurah for the Easter weekend.

There will not be a dinner on Thursday night at Dinghy but the main club is open with family friendly meals.

The fun day and wrap up party is on the 21st of April. Thought we could have a sail for fun, sailing to a place and have a picnic. I am working on some ideas, but yours are welcome!

Thanks

Dinghy had a couple of great volunteers join them this week. Dave "Macca" McCreedy made sure we all stayed dry on his great boat, and helped out with the races. Connor Moran came and helped out with the mark laying. Thanks guys! Looking forward to your company at the Huck Scott....

Huck Scott begins on 12th May. NOR will be sent next week.Huck Scott is a premier winter event at FSC with many competitors vying for cash prizes across all classes.

The Sunday invitation race at the RPYC Annex was windy and wet. There was plenty of challenges and spills and our optimists proved their metal. Well done to Zac Littlewood who won the event. The ratio of 2 boats to every rib ensured the safety of the sailors. Well done to those that sailed, well done to those that had the courage to withdraw when the waves grew and most of all well done to those parents that helped out and let their kids enjoy the fun.

Thanks to RPYC for their hospitality after sailing, the BBQ and drinks where much appreciated.

Thank you

Howdy All,

Please forward to your sailors.

Let's begin with offering congratulations to all our sailors that travelled to other clubs, interstate and overseas in the last few weeks. There was some stand out performances and collectively FSC sailors did very well.
The following websites have all the individual event results, but I must make mention of Alistair Young’s success in New Zealand. He came 4th overall this is equal best result of an Australian optimist sailor (Paris Stowell was the previous optimist sailor to reach 4th a few years ago) .

Presentation Night

Date: May 18th Friday night

This is the premier event when we give out prizes and trophies to those people that have proved themselves throughout the year. Some prizes are based on club racing results, some are based on personal merit, and some are based upon improvement .

It is genuinely expected that sailors and families will attend this evening.

I will be sending out an invitation to you all next week but please save the night!

Training

Winter training schedule has begun.(see previous email sent last week)

School holidays and our highly in demand coaches, have caused some last minute changes. For those that came on Saturday Arthur was there to see how well you have developed. He also took his musto skiff out for a sail, and had some fun capsizing (a feature of the musto skiffs that afternoon)

I plan to continue to send out emails each week, but welcome all feedback on the need to do this, or if you want anything included.

Thank you

On a personal note I would like to thank all those that have helped out through a busy and sometimes challenging summer sailing season. Thanks to the committee who have worked tirelessly to make things happen, FSC staff and board members, Bosuns and most of all thanks to our amazing coaches and sailors and families.

Final Thank you to Mark Robertshaw and family for the new board racks in the end shed.

Kind Regards

Keith Charlwood

Dinghy Captain
