There will be no sailing at FSC till the 14th of July
This is the next Huck Scott and the AGM for dinghy. Please consider nominating for a position. As per the constitution all positions will be declared vacant. A number of committee members have indicated they are happy to re nominate and I will send this out once nominations close. See FSC website for nomination details and forms.
Thank you
Thanks to Michelle and Anthony Kirke for making spaghetti and meat sauce for our hungry sailors. We now have great pasta and currys available . Thanks to Maggie, Jesse grandmother for dropping off some yummy cupcakes,
Recycling of sailing gear
The water is a bit cold ( I'm told) at the moment. If you have any warm gear you have grown out of please bring it down and we can do some recycling.
We are also searching for a reasonable second hand sail for one of our silver fleet optimists to use in Tasmania.
Dinghy club works.
Thanks to the hard work of bosuns Peter Blaxall, Paul Harrford and many others the slipery ramp is moving towards a long term solution. The dedicated team has located a non slip marine matting that gets affixed to the ramp. It is expected that delivery will occur by the end of August and we will then need some volunteers to put it into place. This will be on the weekend of the 22nd and 23 rd of September to take advantage of low tides. Can you please put this into your calendars. Hopefully it will be completed on the 22nd of September.
The planning for the south beach wheelchair access is well underway with many people being involved in this. This is a public dual purpose access for swimmers and fisherman who need a ramp to enter the water.
To protect the awning from masts can you please rig up on the lawn away from the awning, we have had some near misses, and at times it is difficult to get into the clubroom.
Club Access when no planned training or events.
If you need to get entry to the Dinghy facilities outside of planned training or events, you will need to see the reception at the main club who will call the Steve the Sailing Administrator or one of the Harbour Masters..
The steel ropes across the access ways between the car parks/ compound/ lawn will be in place unless there is a planned event. The above people can also open these.
Keys are proving elusive. If you believe you need one please contact Steve. I have placed orders for all coaches and bosuns who don't have a key.
