Howdy all,
It was a big week of training at dinghy, and we welcomed Paris back to train the gold optimist fleet. This week saw 50 + boats training on Saturday, including our visiting 420 fleet.
The FSC Optimist team had a meeting to discuss FSC plans for the nationals in Tasmania, and for more information see Michelle Kirke (Sarah Mum) who has generously volunteered to be the FSC team manager. Fund raising for the travelling optimist FSC team is to begin soon, so please support all efforts. (see Sean chief party boy)
We continue to welcome visitors from other clubs as members of FSC to be part of the winter training.
Tessa Parkinson ran a great 420 training regatta, with a total of 10 boats over both Saturday sessions. It was good fun.
Thanks to Lynn and Ralph Newton who generously skippered their boat as the race committee boat. Wow it was a great step forward from the rib... As always with the 420s parents and friends came out in force to support this training event. The 420 association had their AGM after racing and I am pleased to announce Peter Gilmour as president and Nick Jerwood as Vice with Janet Jerwood as secretary.
Canteen
A big thank you to Anne-Marie (Lara and Tara Mum) who jumped behind the counter on Saturday when Gill was on the water. I appreciate your kindness. The meals are proving very popular with Janet Jerwood making 38 curry’s and Me making 38 pasta. But there is only half this amount left. Now 40 a week is great but it does mean we need more. I know we all enjoy having a nutritious and hot meal choice.
The canteen is what helps fund our coaches, fuel, storage shed upgrade etc.
