Hi all,

Can you please forward Weekly Roundup to your Sailors

Well done to all that competed in the Pot of Gold at Hillary’s on Saturday. The weather was challenging with shifty breezes and heat!

It wasn’t much different at Freo. We had a great turn out for optimist bronze and silver training with 23 boats on the ocean. Thanks to Matt, Sean, Don and Helen (FSC training) for their efforts. Ella Clarke and Will Elks continued some 2 handed training in the puffin pacers.

There was no afternoon racing but it was great to see Thor, Paul Green and Chris Sutherland all out on their Mustos.

1.The second part of the season. We have a new race officer in the morning, Paul Green who will continue to be supported by Leila as time keeper. I am sure that many parents would like the chance to get onto the water and watch the children and help out with the racing, Please speak/email me and I will organize this. You don’t need any sailing knowledge just a keenness to be involved, and the waters of FSC are a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

Saturday Afternoon will remain unchanged and we will continue to share a start boat  with inshore racing.

Canteen will be operating (thanks Lynndy for the big shop you did)and the air-conditioning makes it a good place to be if you want to help out.

2.Friday begins team racing. I have emailed those that expressed an interest to be involved but if you do still want to be part of the team contact  me Sean or Luke Parkinson team coach (emailed into this). I urge all to take part in what is a fun five  Friday evenings.

3. Coaching: meeting on Thursday 2nd of February with Arthur to discuss coaching for the remainder of the 2012 season. Come along and be involved.

Arthur, Don and I will be meeting on Wednesday 1st February. If you have any specific coaching questions can you please let me know and I will raise them.

This week as far as I am aware Arthur will be coaching Wednesday night Lasers, Thursday evening gold optimist, and Friday night boards.  Saturday we have optimist, 4.7 (beginner)and pacer training and racing in the morning and Laser,420, boards and assorted others  in the afternoon.

4. EVENTS: Mini Series at RPYC on the weekend of 11th and 12th of Feb (no racing or training on that day except for optimist bronze)All sailors should attend this event as part of sailing is mixing it with other clubs and in other sailing conditions

420 State Championships are on at FSC 3rd and 4th of March (long weekend)

Optimist State championships are on at Hillarys 3, 4 &5th of March ( Gold and silver)Not sure about bronze Notice of Race pending.

Laser State championships are on at SOPYC 3,4, &5 March (all fleets).

.

5. thanks to those that have emailed your details of boats in the shed. Please be aware that FSC are committed to ensuring that all boats and bays are accounted for so please send your information to me or Steve Darke. If you have not registered your boat with FSC and received your boat sticker then do so ASAP.

I am looking forward to a great 2012 sailing season and look forward to seeing you all on Thursday at 7.30 for the coaching meeting and Saturday for racing.
