Popeyes, the Louisiana chicken chain, continues to expand its menu offerings in the UK. Known for its Cajun breakfast and spicy Buffalo chicken options, the fast-food brand has now introduced a new item: the Double Stack Sandwich.
The Double Stack Sandwich originated from a secret menu hack that gained popularity among Popeyes fans. Many customers were ordering a Chicken Sandwich along with an extra chicken breast to create a double chicken burger. Responding to this demand, Popeyes has made it easier for fans by incorporating the Double Stack Sandwich into its official menu.
Priced at 7.99, the Double Stack Sandwich features two Shatter Crunch chicken breasts nestled inside a soft brioche bun. Customers can choose between the Classic Double Stack or the Spicy Double Stack, which comes with a generous slathering of spicy mayo.
Since its UK debut in November 2021, Popeyes has been on a rapid expansion spree. With 35 locations already operational, the chain has ambitious plans to double its footprint in 2024. New restaurants are slated to open in cities like Glasgow, Swansea, Birmingham, and Exeter, with additional locations to be announced soon.
