Greetings, Mongers:

What follows are several details to keep in mind for a successful and happy Frozen Perl Conference. I'd like to highlight our pre-conference dinner on Friday, which is open to all this year (not just the speakers) – please join us at the lovely Loring Pasta Bar! If you have any questions on anything below or if something comes up during the conference, you can call and talk to an organizer by calling 651-829-9860.

__Wiki__
The conference wiki is here: http://www.frozen-perl.org/mpw2011/wiki
Connect and contribute! This is where the lightning talks will be listed, a tool to help the hackathon self-organize, etc.

__Friday__
* 8:15am - Class registration: Class registration starts at 8:15am on Friday.
* 9am - Classes start: Lunch will not be provided.
* 6pm - Pre-conference dinner: This year we are opening up this dinner to anyone. Speakers should attend, if possible, but please join us even if you are not a speaker! 6pm at the Loring Pasta Bar (http://tinyurl.com/4u5lng5). Ask for the Frozen Perl group.

__Saturday__
* 8am - Registration: Registration will open at 8am with a continental breakfast.
* 9am - Keynote: The keynote will start at 9am.
* 5:45pm - Post-conference dinner: Come to Mai Village (http://tinyurl.com/6ftydx8) for excellent Vitenamese food and a traditional Dragon Dance at 6pm in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The restaurant is a bit of a distance, but worth the journey. There are city buses and taxis available. Ask an organizer if you have transit questions.
* Luminary Loppet (6-9pm): If any of you are interested, even if you don't want to rent skis and participate, check out the Luminary Loppet – a candlelit wonderland on Lake Harriet: http://www.cityoflakesloppet.com/ - I will be skiing if anyone would like to tag along.

__Sunday__
* 12pm - Hackathon: The hackathon will be at Coffman Union (http://tinyurl.com/ncevhq) on the first floor near the information desk. Lunch will be pizza from Mesa, and paid for by Frozen Perl.

The temperatures this weekend are lifting a bit, hovering around freezing, but dress warm enough...and start getting excited for Frozen Perl 2011! It should be fun, interesting and a great opportunity to see each other again.
Looking forward,
Seth
