You
do not find cool hip-hop albums everyday; at least not like how
Wordsmith makes his music. Filled with well crafted lyrics and mastered
to perfection soundtracks, he now gives us his 'Overdue &
Underrated Mixtape' free, an album of 17 catchy hip-hop tunes with 3
bonus tracks specially for FrostWire users. Since the album is licensed
under Creative Commons, you are free to share the music with as many
people as possible.
Wordsmith has a number of places which he calls home. As a son of a
former Full Army Colonel, he was used to moving from one place to
another, going around the country and even living for some time in
Germany.
As everything around him changed, he found rap to be the only thing
that is left unchanged - and he embraced it. For him, he would rather
starve and save up his lunch money just so he could buy the CDs of
Redman, Public Enemy, Ice Cube and even his own cousin Roc Marciano, to
name a few.

Wordsmith
is not new in the world of hip-hop, as his name is always on the top
hip-hop sites as he release his mixtapes for everybody to listen to via
HipHopdx.com. His mixtapes are always a hit, and one was even made as
the top mixtape in HipHop Weekly for January 2009. As his tracks
climbed the college radio charts and his music video was picked up for
rotation by MTV, BET, BETJ, VH1 Soul, Music Choice and others. Website
and radio interviews went on, but Wordsmith still remained to be on the
ground and did all he could to make his love of music profitable. He
stroke deals with companies around the world to promote his name,
licensed his music for a video game and other promotional products
& signed a contract for College campus show bookings.
Overdue and Underrated Mixtape has a number of interesting cuts,
and even some with hints of other musical genres infused in them. Each
one also has very interesting beats and melodies, and you'd just end up
seeing yourself bobbing your head to each track.

Deleting
your digital files does not always mean that they are completely
deleted. Deleting your files does not completely erase them from your
hard drive, which explains why most file deletions can be recovered. If
you are that careful person who wants to take extra precautions with
your digital files, or you need to make sure about your file's
confidentiality and security, then Eraser has got your back covered.
Eraser makes it impossible for sensitive data to be recovered
agaid. It removes it completely from your hard drive, overwriting it
again and again with selected patterns so hackers can say goodbye to
your personal and confidential files. This is especially useful for
those who are hiding something, or for companies with trade secrets and
confidential information.
Released under the GNU General Public License, Eraser is free for everybody to use - no strings attached.
Of course, people are now becoming more and more concerned about
their security, especially with rising cases in identity theft. So an
extra precaution to take care of your information wouldn't hurt, as
well. After all, it is for free.
Although Eraser is now only available for Windows, it wouldn't hurt
to see the next releases available in Mac OSX or Linux, would it?
Eraser Features
- It works with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
- Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000 can still be used with version 5.7!
- It works with any drive that works with Windows
- Secure drive erasure methods are supported out of the box
- Erases files, folders and their previous deleted counterparts
- Works with an extremely customisable Scheduler
The patterns used for overwriting are based on Peter Gutmann's
paper "Secure Deletion of Data from Magnetic and Solid-State Memory"
and they are selected to effectively remove magnetic remnants from the
hard drive.
Other methods include the one defined in the National Industrial
Security Program Operating Manual of the US Department of Defence and
overwriting with pseudorandom data. You can also define your own
overwriting methods.

If you’re the type of person who has collected all the Once Upon a
Time in China movies and still enjoy watching it today, there is a game
that is designed especially for you. Twelve Sky 2 is set in ancient
China where there are three clans that rule the land.
You can take your pick from the Imperial Dragon Clan, Royal Snake
Clan and the Fierce Tiger Clan. There, now doesn’t that remind you of
your old martial arts movies?
The game starts just like in any other MMORPG that you may have
come across with. You are going to create a character and you will be
given a few character customization options which you can use to make
your character a little bit unique than the rest. You will also pick
the kind of weapon that you will use in this game. Depending on the
clan you choose, you will get to start playing in different areas. The
different areas will be a treat to those who want a little variety in
their games.
Twelve Sky 2 boasts of its incredible martial arts moves that you
can only probably see in this game. Most other games have generic moves
or just one particular fighting stance but in this free to play game,
the combat system has diverse moves that let you take down a single
enemy or attack a whole mob with it. There is lots of grinding that you
might have to do here but doing it will not seem like a chore
considering the diversity of the combat elements.
Because of the nature of this game, Twelve Sky 2 is deemed more of
a PVP game rather than a PVE game. What does this mean? This means that
you will be facing more player opponents than monster opponents, which
is actually not a bad idea since a fighting game will always and
forever be played better with a human opponent rather than an AI
opponent. Dueling is fan because you get to get into skirmishes with
members from our own clan or battle against other clans with a member
of your own clan as an ally.
Whether you’re a lone player or a team player, Twelve Sky 2
satisfies the craving for a little brawl using martial arts techniques
you would otherwise have only seen in Jackie Chan movies.

We
worry that IM, texting, Facebook are spoiling human intimacy, but
Stefana Broadbent's research shows how communication tech is capable of
cultivating deeper relationships, bringing love across barriers like
distance and workplace rules. For one - think how many Facebook
friends you have, and how many you talk to online on regular basis. And
do you talk to them more often becuase you are both online?
Stefana Broadbent, a cognitive scientist, has spent
decades observing people as they use technology, both at home and in
complex workspaces such as air-traffic control towers. She looks at the
way we use our brand-new tools, and at the evolving practices for each
tool (for instance, you might phone your mother, but text your spouse;
IM with a co-worker, but tweet among friends) that speak volumes on the
way we think about our relationships.
Using traditional and evolving ethnographic practices in her work,
most recently for Swisscom and now as a Fellow at the new Digital
Anthropology department at University College in London, she has made
some surprising findings. Did you know, for instance, that many of us
now write to our friends more often than we talk to them? Or that even
the most hardened road warriors prefer to do "real"work at their own
desks?

Bankai
is a awesomely creative glitch/nerdcore electro producer from
Melbourne, Australia. His first release, an EP titled "Quarter Circle
Punch", was very successful & popular among the music blogs,
private torrent trackers and independent music sites. Just half a year
later, Bankai is out with his second energy-loaded album "Teen Slut
Pimp Strut". Also just a half a year after releasing his first
recording, Bankai is hitting the road soon.
His fans are organizing and funding a 'crowd sourced' tour in Canada slated for February
2010 - an excellent idea, may I add!
One of the things I completely and absolutely love about Bankai is
the fact that he is entirely open sourced - meaning - he releases all
his music (stems, mp3s & wavs) and his artwork under Creative
Commons letting people enjoy and build up on his work. Just the fact
that he lets people legally take a stab at his music created a load of
excellent remixed - all of course available for download on his
website.
Here’s an excerpt from our interview we did with Will a while ago:
What is your music background?
I played violin as a kid, I was raised on balkan / macedonian folk
music and stuff. I taught myself guitar in my teens, got vocal lessons
later on - I played in a punk band for about a decade. I only started
doing electro about 9 months ago, so I still tend to scream and rant a
lot on stage. It feels weird twiddling knobs and sliders.
Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
Devin Townsend was a big deal to me and my friends growing up. Big
fat epic production, manic songwriting. Of course there's Oizo and
SebastiAn and whatnot, but a guy called Joe Forrester I used to play
with - astoundingly talented dude - has probably been an even bigger
inspiration over the years.
I wrote a big chunk of QSP in a wee little town called
'Savonlinna', in Finland. Really inspiring place. It's like someone
reached into reality and turned down the hue, all black and white and
dark green, with 5 hours of sunlight a day and -30 temp and stuff. I
spent a lot of time in this bar called 'Happytime'. Hah!
Do you compose your own songs from scratch?
Most of it starts on the piano or guitar, or I go "laa laa" into my
phone when I'm not at home. I tend to start things too late at night
and mix them together the next day at the cafe down the road, or the
pub. I tend to finish remixes the day I start them, but originals take
a lot of obsessive tweaking. I have trouble keeping things simple, the
last step tends to be pulling out all the unnecessary extra synths and
samples so it's listenable again.
Now, what’s next for Bankai? He’s says, “I'm in the process
of modding some Wii bits and fixing up a pedal thingy I made from a
broken usb keyboard, 'tis fun... but way cooler is this group of people
over in Vancouver (from the 'Electro Freaks' group from T61) who are
trying to do a sort of crowd-sourcedBankai minitour, where they share
the costs and effort over a bunch of people, making merch and buying
plane tickets and all. If it actually works out it'll be quite the
feat...†If anything, his EP is already quite the feat.
If you are a fan of noise loaded electronic music - make sure to
download this one and if you love it, support your artists - get some
awesomely designed gear.

There
are times when you simply have to snuggle down in your bed, light some
candles, and listen to some music which transports you back to the
times when you've watched fairy tale cartoons as a child. Or maybe you
need to have that special music when you ask your special someone over
for a special candlelight dinner. However you want the situation to be,
Yanchar's Tu y Solo Tu would give you the magical and passionate
ambiance that you are looking for.
Tu y Solo Tu, which literally means 'You and Only You' in Spanish,
is a 5-track album filled with hypnotizing strings and piano melodies -
the perfect match for a romantic candlelight dinner date or for an
unwinding session in a hot bathtub after a long day at work.
Yachar writes that the album, and the two others, are dedicated to
his dear wife who has changed his life and filled it with joy - his
eternal dream. True enough, the sounds in this album seems to lull you
to a magical garden filled with all things nice and passionate - just
like how love would sound if you could hear it.
No Despertare de Ti features nice harmonics of guitars and violins,
and gives out a great feeling of being in love. Tu y Solo Tu, on the
other hand, has that feeling of excitement, hurt, longing and love all
rolled into one. It has traces of bells, strings, and the piano.
The whole album transports you somewhere beautiful and magical,
just like how those fairy tales have sent you to a perfect place of
your own as you wait for your princess or prince to bring to the
castle.

Tired
of your old first-person shooting game which seems to be so repetitive
as you go through it day by day? Or perhaps you can't just get over the
thought of shooting aliens or maybe you want to fight as an alien this
time? Then maybe this is just the game for you.
Tremulous is an open-source game for Linux and Windows with a
team-based gameplay where players can choose between aliens and humans.
It combines FPS with real-time strategy to keep the excitement going on
for hours and hours.
Aside from shooting enemies, Tremulous lets you build structures in
the game to help you win against your enemies, pretty much like a
real-time strategy game. These structures have lots of functions, but
players should make sure that they have spawn places so players can
rejoin after dying. Other structures could heal, defend and a whole lot
more.

Players advance depending on which team they have chosen. Humans
get credits when they kill aliens, and aliens get to advance their
classes when they kill humans. On the other hand, the objective of both
teams is to simply wipe out the other team. Players simply don't have
to kill the other team - they must also remove their spawning bases.
Feature List
- Flexible particle system - 99% of the in-game visual effects are configured using particle scripts.
- 16 buildable structures with in-game functions.
- Play as several alien classes with unique abilities.
- Customize your setup as a human and buy new weapons, armour and items.
- Scale the walls and ceilings as an alien waiting for an unsuspecting human.
- Realistic physics and motion - no bunny hopping or quick back peddling.
- Flexible map system - animated mapobjects, triggering, light flares, etc.
- Large weapons system - don't like the weapon you have? Sell it and buy a different one, dozens of options.

Mike Falzone is back with a new band by his side and a new album entitled "Do It For The Story". Just as his previous release,
"Fun with Honesty",
this one is full of "infectious lyrics, catchy melody, and humor".
Guitar & drum heavy tracks dominate the album and Mike's engaging
voice makes it a real pleasure to listen to. Licensed under Creative
Commons, it's available as a free download via FrostWire and is meant
to be widely shared with all family and friends!
Seriously though, "Do It For The Story" is one of those Indie Pop
albums you listen to once & catch a bad case of "humming" - there
is just that one song that will stick in your mind for days!
Little about Mike Falzone & The Pepermint Trick
Mike Falzone has played with artists like Ryan Cabrera, Citizen
Cope, Teddy Geiger, Stroke 9, Matt Nathenson, Mates of State, Piebald,
The Alternate Routes, The Smyrk, Mike Davis, Suckka Brown and many
others.

In
2007, he went on a national tour and opened for artists like Third Eye
Blind and State Radio. He has played over 110 shows in just one year
(wow!!!), including A National Tour and a Borders Books sponsored tour.
In 2008 Mike opened for Kate Vogele (one Tree Hill star), Ryan Cabrera,
was invited to Asbury park to play the 3rd annual WAVE GATHERING and
released
'Fun with Honesty'
in Borders Stores and on iTunes. The album was widely popular with
FrostWire audience and got over 33,000 downloads in just a few days.
Songs from the album were also licensed to MTV immediately following
the surge of support and appeared on shows like The Hills, The City,
Made, and Parental Control.
In May 2009 Mike, this time with The Peppermint Trick, returned to
the studio with Nick Bellmore and recorded "Do It For The Story". Ever
since, the band has been playing loads of concerts and prides itself on
being a "band within arms reach of its audience". They record many
YouTube videos, answer to all comments on social networking sites and
constantly tweet back and forward with their fans. Recently Mike went
on Fox News (:P) to show off his guitar playing skills and his "Liberal
T-Shirt".
The Band says:
The #1 question asked of musicians: "How would you describe your music?"
Our answer: "Indie Pop, with a minty aftertaste, kind of like
eating a sexy Peppermint Pattie." Hey, if someone told me they just
heard music that sounds like a sexy mint confection, I'd want to hear
what they were talking about.
If you like the album, PLEASE show your support and buy the record on
iTunes...its less than $5!!! For an independent musician every penny counts!
