At the beginning of the year I began a rewrite of my river software.

The result was River3, which is a very simplified version of a River of News aggregator.

It's not open source, but it is free for people to use as they like. If there are problems I'll try to address them, but my primary work these days is on Fargo and related development. But I want to see the river.js format be more widely used, that's why I'm releasing this software now.

Cool, is there anything special I need to do to transition my Radio2 server to Radio3?  Should I just wipe out the old installation of the OPML editor and install it from scratch?

Cheers,
Andrew

I don't know. ;-)

You should read the docs and think about how you want to do it.

That's the best advice I have to offer. This is not hand-holding-ware.

But it seems pretty reliable, and I've been using it for my rivers since February.

The docs say what you need -- that's the best I can do for you.

I mean River2 to River3.  Sigh....

Ok, I'll figure it out.

BTW, if you get River3 running, it would be helpful to me if you could post a link to your river here on the list or send it to me privately. Often I don't get any feedback and don't know if it's working. Thanks. Dave

Looks cool, Dave. Thanks.

Is there any way to manually "refresh" River3? To have it reread the subscription lists and build the HTML files before its regular scheduled time?

There's no command to do a manual refresh in River3.

You can do it by running the script river3suite.scanner. Just open it up and click the Run button.

I will consider adding it as a feature in a future update.

Gotcha. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Running river3suite.scanner should get me where I want to go.

Thanks again.
