I know this is probably a simple one, but I'm looking for the index.html file that currently forwards hits to the main domain URL to OPML login page to instead forward to my rivers URL.  Any direction would be welcomed.

Thanks,
Matt

Maybe a little bit more info would be helpful.

Right now, if I go to:

http://rss.lyncjedi.com/

I get redirected to the OPML login page.

I would like to configure the redirect to go to:

http://rss.lyncjedi.com/rivers/ddrss/

Any thoughts?

It looks like what you want is a web site dedicated for hosting your river so that you can access it with a simple FQDN like river.frankmcpherson.org, which is what I have done by doing the following:

1. Create a new S3 bucket and configure it for web hosting. (See http://scripting.com/stories/2011/03/08/howToUseTheHostawebsiteFea.html
2. Create a CNAME that is the same as the name you provided for the S3 bucket and configure it to point to that bucket
3. Access your River2 web site served by the OPML server and select Prefs, S3 path
4. Check the box to store your static river to a S3 bucket and provide the S3 path, which should have the same name as in #1 and #2 above.

As the instructions on the Prefs page says, fi you configured the S3 bucket that you created to host a web site, you will be all set, you will then be able to access the site directly with a simple domain name.

One more thing.... if you want to keep http://rss.lyncjedi.com/ as the name for your River2 web site, what you can do is create a different CNAME for your OMPL server, for example opml.lyncjedi.com and of course provide that in the OPML server prefs and then use the rss.lyncjedi.com as the CNAME in the instructions above. You will want to use that for the name of the S3 bucket you create to host the site was well.

Then after you do that, rss.lyncjedi.com will point to just a River2 site as you like while opml.lyncjedi.com/river2 will point to the "source" River2 site on your OPML server. It might also be possible to simply have a domain redirect to opml/lyncjedi.com/river2 but that will then require a login before accessing the site whereas if you create the separate site in an S3 bucket no log in is required because you are really just accessing a simple web site.

I'm using Hover (like Dave I think) for my domain management, but I'm having a few problems. If I do as you describe in the steps below I can't get CNAME to work and redirect me to the site. It just puts me on a page at hover that states "the user has not enabled any redirections". Then if I go to the Hover tab for "domain details" and "forward this domain" and put in the explicit address for the S3 bucket, then it works (deleting the CNAME). I really don't know what I am doing here- maybe some more explicit examples or screenshots of setup screens would help?

Also when I have "stealth redirect" checked to retain the registered URL in the address bar (not the AWS url) then the behavior of the page is not as nice in that the static River2 page reloads when I "back arrow" in the browser, rather than using the cached copy and quickly displaying the link I clicked on the original page

Also it should be documented on  http://scripting.com/stories/2011/03/08/howToUseTheHostawebsiteFea.html that the preferences in the OPML server for S3 setup also need to be done before doing it in Rivers2 prefs:
/opmlServer/prefs?page=1.3, where access credentials to access the S3 bucket need to be pasted.
