ELEMENTARY TCAP 2013 IS HERE
You can help your child to do their best on the TCAP by making sure your child is in school and is well rested and ready for the tests on the test days. Please avoid scheduling doctor or other appointments on these days. Please have children ON TIME (some testing begins at 8:05 a.m.)-If a student arrives after 8:05, they will not be allowed in the classroom or to join their class until the test has been made up.
We are having several dress down days for TCAP. The free dress down days are March 4th, 8th, 11th & 15th. We have some fun activities built around our testing schedule such as a pancake breakfast for 3rd-5th graders. Perfect attendance awards will also be given. Teachers will be contacting parents for help.
The elementary school TCAP test days are:
· 33rd Grade Reading – February 27th and 28th
· 33rd Grade Writing – March 6th and 7th
· 33rd Grade Math – March 13th and 14th
4th -5th all subjects - March 5th – March 14th
The tests will be administered in the morning for 3rd grade and both the morning and afternoon for 4th and 5th grade students. Students in 3rd grade do one session (60-65 minutes) a day. Students in 4th and 5th grade do 1-2 sessions a day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays of each testing week.
SECONDARY SCHOOL TCAP
* PLEASE be sure your 6th -12th grade students are at school and on time on March 4, 5, 6, and 7.
* We will be giving TCAP tests to 6th – 10th graders during that week (TCAP will look just like CSAP did).
*
To help make this a positive experience, we are providing students
light snacks throughout the day (and we are depending on your food
donations - thank you).
* We are still accepting granola bars for TCAP snacks. Please drop them at the front office with Mrs. Dorn.
*
Help your students feel their best all week by making sure they go to
be early, sleep well, eat a good breakfast and bring healthy lunches.
* TCAP test results are
important to your student and Frontier Academy. The scores help us
determine how much progress we have made this year, and they affect our
standing with the state of Colorado and District 6.
* Yes, 11th and 12th
grade needs to be here that week also. They will attend most of their
regular classes at regular times and days. When there are exceptions,
we will provide alternative options.
* To thank students for
their hard work, the middle and high school will have dress-down days
the entire week of TCAP (no hats - just like Thursday dress-down).
Again, that's March 4, 5, 6, and 7.
* The Colorado
Department of Education states that students may not have cell phones in
the TCAP testing room. Students need to leave cell phones at home, in
lockers or in the front office.
* Students are encouraged to bring their own water to TCAP testing. Water only, please.
* AGAIN, PLEASE be sure your student attends all 4 days of CSAP, March 4, 5, 6, and 7.
* With your help, TCAP will be great! Thank you for your support.
ALSO AT THE SECONDARY: We are collecting granola bars for TCAP testing at the secondary school. If you can donate any please drop them by the secondary school office by Feb. 28.
