Bookswap, last one at Martine and Robbert's house! However, the Maseru Bookswap will continue—new venue to be announced on Thursday 26th. The last Thursday of the month will be here again which means the Bookswap will be taking place this Thursday (26th September). Bring your books to swap or come without books and find something to read, while you talk and have a drink and a snack with other book readers. The venue is Robbert and Martine Faber's house at Maseru West 282 which is not far from the European Commission on Constitution Road. To get there take the right turn off Constitution Road where the EU complex begins, then go left at the roundabout (you'll see signs for the Irish Embassy and Machabeng College in the other direction) then take the right turn immediately afterwards which is Caledon Road. Very soon you'll see a sign to Kokobela Village on the left. Turn here and take the bumpy gravel road immediately to the right which has a signpost for the Ministry of Health Estates. At the end of this road you will see a white house on your left with two black garage doors and number 282 on the gate. We start at 18:30 and go on until 20:00 hrs. Baye Laye is captain of a fishing boat, he knows the ocean. He does not want to leave, but he has no choice. He will have to carry 30 men to Spain. They don’t understand each other, some have never seen the ocean, and no one knows what to expect.

Kick4Life is looking for the help from YOU for help with their program called Pusha Love Chomees! The program consists of ten sessions which cover a range of topics: including goal-setting, healthy relationships, communication skills, facts about HIV/AIDS, gender issues, and tackling stigma and discrimination. Each session lasts one hour and twenty minutes. The sessions are led by trained Kick4Life facilitators. We need groups of young people to work with. Specifically, we are looking for out-of-school youth aged 18-24. We have coaches based in Maseru central, Morija, Roma, Thaba Bosiu, Mapoteng, TY, Maputsoe and Hlotse. Coaches are able to travel to groups anywhere in or around those communities. We are extremely flexible and can work with groups whenever is convenient for them to meet - including on weekends! KICK4LIFE'S OVC RECYCLING INITIATIVE
This new program hires OVC's as recycling collectors. They are provided with bicycles and trailers to collect recyclables from houses and businesses. Each household makes a monthly donation of M100 and businesses make a donation of M200. This income, along with the returns from the redemption centre will go towards the collector's school fees, books, uniforms and other expenses to keep them in school. This is a great opportunity to empower these youths to overcome their circumstances and improve their lives. Not to mention the need for a recycling service in Maseru.
