A Crimson Collaboration

Lesotho Highlands Mountain Challenge Invitation
On the 16th September 2017 Highlands Trout, in conjunction with ultra-marathon winning legend Bruce Fordyce, will host the 5th Annual Lesotho Highlands Mountain Challenge. This high altitude (+2300 MASL) marathon offers the ideal training opportunity for any enthusiastic runner wanting a unique and scenic training opportunity with all proceeds raised going towards a very good cause.
Funds are raised from the entry fees paid by the runners and these go to the Highlands Trout Beneficiation program. The program engages monthly meetings with communities around the dam that are affected by the Katse dam and the Highlands Trout commercial operations and identifies projects that will directly benefit these communities. The fund is facilitated by Highlands Trout and approved and monitored by the Lesotho Department of Environment and the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority. The entry fees are as follows:

· 21.1 KM – M80.00
We appeal to you as a runner/association of runners to partake in this event thus making it a memorable occasion and to maximise the funds raised for the community beneficiation programme.

Sesotho Weekend in Morija
Morija Guest Houses will be holding an 'Introduction to Sesotho Language and Culture Weekend’ from 15th to 17th Sept. 2017, especially for newly- arrived foreigners in Lesotho. In a very informal atmosphere, the weekend will help participants to gain confidence to start speaking Sesotho, to acquire useful knowledge of Lesotho's history and Basotho culture and generally to feel more comfortable in their new situation. The language learning sessions are not intensive as the emphasis is on encouraging all participants. In between the language sessions, there are discussions on culture as well as hikes to explore the beautiful environment. Children are welcome and will be kept happily occupied during the language sessions.

Boat cruise at Mohale Dam:
Anyone visiting the area of Mohale Dam may wish to consider making a boat trip on the lake formed by the dam. The boat leaves from a jetty located near the Intake Tower for the dam reservoir. When driving on the road towards the Mohale Dam Information Centre you turn to the right following the sign for the Intake Tower and after about 25 mins (on a road with beautiful views over the reservoir) you will come to the departure jetty for the boat. To reserve in advance and enquire about the cost, call the boatman, Ntate Mojalefa, on +266.58991155.
