I was hoping you could help spread the word for a project I worked on. For the last few years I've been reporting a story about a mother in Nuevo Laredo searching for her son. He was a teenage, U.S. citizen who left Texas to be with his family during Trump's first term. In the spring of 2018 he was taken from the streets, and around that time at least 49 other people were disappeared or murdered... the bodies found with evident signs of torture. Rather than the local cartel—as the government claimed—the people who committed these crimes were members of an elite Mexican marine special forces team, developed and trained by the United States. The context for the story looks at U.S. support, and zealous encouragement, really, for the war on drugs in Mexico and the human cost of deploying soldiers for police work. 

I've nearly finished my book manuscript. But I also worked with a friend to make a documentary on the same subject. It's out now to rent or buy on most streaming services. Here's the documentary trailer. 

I was wondering if you could help me spread the word. I think it's a ripe topic for the moment... and your list.
